That seems fanciful. You could get the ingredients for a meal that work out for 30p a portion ignoring actual cost of cooking it. I’d not think it’s substantial mind.

Sure anyone can get caught a little short of cash during the month but when this country gets to the point that people routinely only have 30p to spend on a meal something needs to happen.

I was curious about the “far right wing” press comment - no doubt we have more right leaning press than left leaning. I found this article a bit interesting

Most notably the view of press based on your political leanings. I was a little surprised that some on the far left / fairly left perceived the mirror and guardian as very right wing. I’m presuming those of a very left leaning ideology that said the daily Mail was very left wing didn’t understand the question! I was a bit surprised the daily Mail was seen as more right wing than the express I don’t read either but I’ve always perceived the express as being very anti anything that is a bit different always trying to stoke fear into its readership.

Of all of those only the mirror could objectively be called left-wing by virtue of it's consistent support of the Labour party.

Guardian and Independent are liberal newspapers and their economic viewpoints are broadly centrist.

Just read that Bozos latest wheeze is to reduce the Civil Service population the Tories have allowed to balloon by one fifth. This to put money in the pot for tax cuts.
I guess as is usual in government accountancy the severance costs will be excluded from any calculations on savings.
In my view we are headed on a road towards some serious civil unrest.

The tories are talking about the state pension age being raised to 75 years, which, given our declining life expectancy their lack of proper funding of the NHS is having on our health, is probably just about right.

Jacob Reese-Mogg, tory grandee, Brexit Opportunities Minister, and religious fanatic, is probably aiming for 70 years, because three score and ten is all we we should expect from the good book he holds so dear, and the tax cuts resulting from that are too lucrative to ignore.

"Or if we have strength four score". As ten years is about the life expectancy difference between wealth and poverty, that should be "if we have wealth". The rich get their pensions for longer.
