I love him to bits, and thought he defended admirably against Watford/Newcastle, but he was exposed today by Bowen’s movement.

Brilliant on the ball, and offers so much coherence going forward, but we definitely need more options at fullback to cover for injuries, and to push Walker/Cancelo.

What he has to learn is that mistakes happen and that when you drop one, then you just have to make sure you don’t drop another and that you do your job.

What he doesn’t need to do is think that he has to atone for his mistake and start playing Hollywood passes and shooting from distance, especially with his right foot!

Lovely bloke. Hopefully wins another medal next week then leaves to further his career and strengthen city.

A makeshift back line facing up against speed and physicality didn’t work out well today. Zin played a part in the screw ups but wasn’t the only one who faltered.

I don’t think he has to leave to strengthen the squad: at his best he’s a solid LB that does what Pep wants, at his worst he’s a solid squad player that provides cover for multiple positions. He should stay; we also should sign more options.

We work so much better with Cancelo on the left and Walker right. Zinc has done a job but we need to get cover for left back.

Disagree. He isn’t a left back. He isn’t good enough in AM for our team as we have many many better options there. We need a specialist and one of the younger lads in. It’s a waste of a squad space.

I think cover at RB is more pressing - if we can find a capable deputy for Walker, Cancelo doesn’t need to shift across to cover. Zinchenko is a capable LB, just not a 1st choice. I wouldn’t complain if we could bring in a world class LB mind you!

I will never question his desire or ability with the ball. But he was exposed badly today and looked like a midfielder playing left back.

i think we need a proper left back to compete with cancelo.

Not just today, that Chiquino from Wolves also destroyed him on numerous occasions but that went under the radar, today however he was well and truly exposed.

Give the lad a bit of leeway , but he was defensively very poor against West Ham , its rare he lets us down and when he does it should be highlighted , with all the changes to our back four they lacked the cohesion when playing the high line and no doubt this contributed to his display. For 90% of our games he is good enough but its the 10% that will always mean he will be a back up player for us.

He didn’t have a great game but having a half fit Laporte next to him probably didn’t help. He gives it everything and on occasion it might not be enough but he never hides. He’s a good character as a squad guy I’d say but clearly we need a proper left back.

Another shocker and as much as he`s a tryer he aint our solution.
He and Fernandinho were the logical targets for West Ham today.

Zinchenko has never actually improved as a full back in all the time he's played there. Defence is not a natural position for him. It's been obvious fir ages.

He's got the heart of a lion, but to use him as a defender in an elite team is like putting an Elastoplast on a broken leg.

Poor game today but overall a very good squad player. Very rarely let’s us down. His game time has been limited this season and with the Ukraine situation he is bound to be affected in some way. So unlucky to lose Dias, stone and Walker. Crazy if you think about it. Decent player and a decent lad. No need to hound him out.
