Gundogan contract situation

Should we offer him an extension beyond 2023?

Great player for us and if at his best I'd be very disappointed but realistically he's past his best so I like the move.

Excellent player but we really need more drive, energy and youth in the midfield.
This season has highlighted that he isn’t considered 1st pick.
Was outstanding last season

This has got me a little bit worried about next season to be honest. It could turn out to be one of transition with a new playing style based around a strong centre forward. Rodri and (hopefully) Bernado will be so important as new players learn to play for Pep and existing players like Foden and Grealish may be adopting to different roles. Worried but also excited - good luck Gundo.

With a year left on his contract sounds like a genuinely joint decision. Top player who was brilliant for Dortmund and is brilliant for us. Will be a big miss for us and a big gain for someone else. Certainly still good enough for a title challenging or a CL side.

He was phenomenal last season. Himself and Bernardo are a perfect combo. Hope he has every success in his next job.

If this is true I wonder if he may go back to Dortmund as the club's are already in negotiations regarding Haaland.

Though we will buy, I suspect this will mean Foden and Grealish playing more often together, with the central midfield being Foden, Rodri, Bernardo with KDB ahead, along with Grealish and then Haaland. I think Grealish and Foden will rotate positions between them, as will KDB and BS.

We absolutely MUST ensure that Fernandinho’s replacement can play both as a 6 and as an 8. We need that versatility because City will be mindful of keeping a spot open for Bellingham if it’s true he’s 2023’s top target.

So buy a versatile (but quality) player to rotate with both Rodri and the 8’s. Play Foden/Grealish in midfield more often. Then buy Bellingham in 2023.

Great player, great bloke. Hope he goes somewhere that is challenging for silverware.

Hope Klopp doesn't come sniffing.
He rates Gundogan highly

I don't think he'd go to another Premier League team.

And Klopp may be a fan, but the pace Liverpool play at wouldn't work for Gundo.
