Quite clever from Gerrard on Sunday. Effectively took Grealish out of the game from kick off. Villa won the toss and changed ends which is very rare and there was no way Jack was coming on second half right in front of the hate from Villa fans, it could have destroyed him. Just my observation.

Not sure I agree with that. If Jack Grealish can't come on in front of his ex-club's supporters and perform to the level that is expected and required at City, then he shouldn't be at this club. There is no way it would have destroyed him, in fact I'd say he's the type of person who would thrive in that situation.

I haven’t looked back on the entirety of the thread, but anyone who hasn’t yet heard Peter Drury’s commentary on Gundo’s final goal is missing out on brilliant work.

In my opinion he’s the best of the best in modern football. He really captures the insanity, passion and beauty of the moment.

I once went to Hampden to see Rangers V Hibs Cup final (1979 I think)

Mind you I was seeing double I'd drunk that much McEwans export on the train up.

Same day Utd got beat at Wembley by Arsenal and we (Rangers) were scrapping with reds at Preston station....never seen Utd fans run as fast.

The scousers covet that European cup more than anything, the majority of our fans couldn't give a fuck about it except wanting to win it as we do every competition we enter. For me it's the premier league all day long. A hard slog over nine long months of blood sweat and tears. I hope to end up with nothing at the end of it has crushed them and put doubt in their minds for Saturday's game. I hope Madrid smash them, but even funnier would be a finish like they did to us. Now that would ruin them and their summer.

They covet it because it’s the one trophy they’re ahead of everyone else in England, so of course they want to maintain that position. If we’re honest with ourselves we do give a fuck and would love to win it if only to shut a few people up.
