I want us to do our deals early

That is our natural instinct - get the deals done and move on but the wider perspective is that we need to get the best deals for the club and sometimes - some of those deals are not options at the start of the window - sometimes deals emerge later in the window - so patience is a potential virtue.

Something that seems to have gone largely unnoticed when talking about what we (I'm a Leeds fan) would want for Kalvin Phillips is that we rejected an offer of around £55mil for Kalvin from West Ham in January.

And he has reiterated on multiple occasions he doesn't want to leave and has never asked to leave.

So with that in mind we can demand an absolute premium for a player who would also benefit from the well known English player tax and it would probably take well over £55mil in the massively inflated domestic market.

If Declan Rice is over £100mil then KP (who was named England's best player of 2021) should be much closer to that then he is the £35mil I've seen mentioned.

Our owner has mentioned before that sales will be necessary at times but with Raphinha going to Barcelona in all likelihood (if they also realise we rejected a similar £50+mil offer for Raph in January and so they need to vastly up there bids) then we will be under no pressure financially to sell KP either.

So with all that being said we are very well positioned to play hardball I'd think and I'd guess the fee required would be substantial and likely more than you paid for Rodri.

£70mil minimum is my guess and I don't know if you'd pay that.

At what position would Felix play? He is not a classic winger and we have signed Haaland/Alvarez as our strikers. We have tons of number 10 too.
Foden isn't a classic winger either but see how be plays. Inside forwards are far deadlier, Felix has an eye for goal and he would be amazing in our frontline.

prob find its the other way round, Felix used in a 9/False 9 when Haaland is out and Alvarez playing off the width

Is this 3 league and 2 cup winners?
The Quint?
I read somewhere that for the younger groups there is no "league" per se. The cups would be signify they were the best in their age group in the country. Someone who knows more may feel free to correct me but it seems like City we're the best in every age group in the country.

Felix has played Striker, Cam , LW and LWB at Atletico. When needed, Simone has also tried him as an 8 when players in midfield have been subbed off. As a creative outlook when they are defending deep to hold a lead

I don't see any position for him at City and he has no pace to be a winger in our system. Sorry, but all of these quotes are wet dreams.

no pace needed, we get to counter about once ever 10 games. mostly play against Low block FC.

Dont think he'll ever end up here though

You're right, but I couldn't see Bernardo Silva as a midfielder in our team when he arrived. Neither could I see Zinchenko as a left back. If Pep wants him and we do get him, I'll be confident he'll fit in without doubt.

Phillips will be a very good signing. His skill set is different from Rodri and other MFs on the squad so he'll offer something unique when required but is good enough to adequately cover for Rodri in case of crisis.

He isn't my preferred choice but I trust the club. Bielsa preaches positional play and awareness so that would be a plus, knowing he developed in that system.
