Goals scored to sitters missed is a more accurate evaluation as it ignores the "playing for City quotient, ie we create more chances than the rest".Total goals scored cannot be the sole assessment, imho, Raz contributes with his ability to dribble, to act as decoy, to show for the ball at the crucial moments, a skill often missed by fans, and his pace has not left him. The peerless David Silva did not score as many goals that his talent suggests he should have done, but was virtually undroppable by virtue of all his other contributions, it comes down to Pep's opinion, which suits me. All i know is, no other player has frustrated me as much as the mercurial Raheem.... brilliant for the national team under the bland GS, prone to gaffes under the intensity of Pep....glad it's not my decision (should one be necessary)
I like this post. Nail on the head for me. I am sure everyone respects Raheem,s contribution over the years. The issue for many of us is his Incredible amount of open goals missed in recent seasons. Plus in some games, his complete lack of ability to control a ball and stay on his feet.
This for me explains the divide of opinions on the forum about him. On the one side stands his amazing history at the club, but on the other side is his unbelievable open goal misses and lack of ball control and balance.
To summarise in the past 2 seasons his form is 50% good and equally 50% poor.

Cole Palmer has undoubted potential and has shown in glimpses what he is capable but he is quite ready yet to completly replace Raz yet.

Yeah I was being sarcastic, I don't think whatever Sterling does he will never win over some of our fan base. If he does leave whatever club gets him they will be lucky. I just hope it is somewhere he is more appreciated
Sorry totally didnt pick up. Doh!

Not the player i'd have in mind, Palmer seems much more likely to be takin the Mahrez role/position for me.

I thought sterling had said he always fancied playing in la liga? Well if he wants out of city then why would he move to another premier league team?

To say Sterling's stats have been uplifted due to playing in such a high quality and successful side is unfair. With the number of appearances he's made over the last 5 years (of which we've won 4 PL titles) and his contributions in those seasons it's fair to say he is a huge part of that system and what makes it so successful. You could go as far to say players like Sterling, KDB etc ARE Pep's system.
