I reckon the Chelsea interest sparked us to get this sorted ASAP. They are about to finish the takeover and almost immediately they will lose several players on a free and Alonso is apparently waiting to join Barca.

Presuming Brighton want to find their replacement before this gets confirmed but they are pretty good with their recruitment so I doubt it will be long.

This guy is much more suited to our game than Frenkie de Jong who although he possesses the skills and game reading needed he lacks the physique to handle the EPL, one big gust of wind and he will fall over. However Cucurella has been blooded in the prem and is up to the task.
