Don’t pay attention to how well players play at international tournaments. There are Championship players playing for their countries, and players playing in leagues where they sacrifice goats before kick off playing in those tournaments.
James Rodrigues looked like the next superstar of the sport at the 2008 World Cup and got moves to Madrid and Bayern off the back of it and he’s midtable Prem standard.
He is now, he wasn't then. He was also a big part of a Porto team that won lots of trophies and won the Europa league and performed well in the champions league.
He has an issue with staying fit and the work rate but he had genuine technical ability and end product it wasn't just hype.
Eden Hazard has actually performed considerably worse than him at Madrid and he was arguably the best player in PL before he left Chelsea. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Palmer/alvarez as a Jesus replacement, what about raphinha as a sterling replacement? Really rate him and think in a better possession based team he'd get double the goals. Doesnt look out of place in attack for Brazil alongside Neymar etc..

Missing point. It is a backwards step, I don't believe he will push on enough to be worth the cost. If we was going to do it would have likely happened by now.
£45-60 Million when we could get better value from a younger player with better technical ability and more potential.
We don't need to make these kind of signings, it is a "Wilf Bony move".
We might as well play Palmer or Kayky instead of wasting money on him.
IMO we need a versatile winger if Jesus and Sterling will leave. Leao would be perfect, Gnabry would be great, I'd consider Bowen for sure too because Mahrez is 31 and we need competition. If we will receive 50M£ for Sterling, then we need to sign a direct and speedy winger IMO.

If we can get Gnabry for £30mil and Sterling goes for around £50mil, that’s very smart business.
Bony Move, cant believe you've just compared getting in raphinha to the bony transfer! Peak years 25-30 so still room for improvement. Fernandinho moved at 29? he most certainly improved 10 fold in our system. Mahrez albeit he has done a lot more to warrant the move. Raphina is a quick skilful winger likes to take people on with an eye for goal. very similar traits to sterling and at 40-45 mil I reckon thats a bargain given we should recoup that money easily for sterling? I dont think its a massive downgrade from sterling imo. I get what your saying though but got 11 goals this season in a woeful team, de Bruyne slipping in passes down the right he'd have a load moreMissing point. Frankly believe that over his tenure at City he has done very well. I will support any player who pulls on our shirt. BUT, if someone wants to go, then go, do not fuck about with the club. They become a negative impact in the dressing room. The rags team is full of them.

imo Bowen is nowhere near our level. signing him would be a massive disappointment

Not opposed to Raphina though I don't think we will sign him but don't think Fern signing is a very good comparison.
