Leroy Sané

I loved watching Sane make his runs and always felt something was going to happen when he got the ball, an exciting player - but his attitude and ego let him down. He moved on, we moved on and there isn't a player I'd replace him with in our current squad.

We’ve not been the same team on the counter attack since Leroy left.

And no player has ever had me on the edge of my seat as much as him. Wright-Phillips comes close but not at Sané’s level.

He never had a bad word to say about the club after leaving, always respectful, never even moaned while he was here. He just fancied playing for Bayern for a bit, hardly a Judas figure.

I’d have him back in a heartbeat.

Electric pace
Great dribbler.
Skillful.
Good finisher.

Mbappe is so much more confident in how he applies himself though. So much hunger and desire compared to Sane who is far too comfortable with where he’s at and what he’s already done.

In terms of raw talent Sane could have been well on his way to being an elite class player right now.
Kyle Walker did an interview with Five Live in shout his second season, and said something along the lines of “if Leroy could just believe in himself a lot more, he could be anything he wants to be in this sport”.

I don’t think it’s hunger, desire or being too comfortable with where he is, it seems to be that he lacks confidence in himself.

Leaving out the year he was injured he has had diminishing returns for 3 seasons in a row. From his best season under us in 17/18, slowly falling out of team in 18/19, bad opening season in 20/21 (worse than his bit-part role for us 2 years prior) in Bayern and then even worse this season.

This is not the profile of a player that we should be looking to sign for me.

What bed’s is that? Fancied working somewhere else for a bit? It’s hardly like he went to United and slagged off City after leaving.
Never said he slagged off city. But he wanted to leave for Bayern. Why would we take him back? If he’s not doing it at Bayern then there’s no good reason for him to come back lol.

Never really did it for us either, looked great coming off the bench but that's about it

Offer to take him on a season long loan with Bayern paying half his wage, and a clause they pay all his wage if he gets injured.

Wasn't happy here and pushed his way to Bayern. Now he's not happy at Bayern

Will he ever be happy anywhere he goes ? The fact is he doesn't like being told what to do by anyone and that's a major issue

Why was he so desperate to leave us for Bayern?
And why does he wants to leave Bayern now or does Bayern wants to get rid?

Both questions probably play a part in the next questions .
Does he want to come back? As in does he feel himself good enough to win regular starts in our team?
And do we want him back? As in do we feel he can make us better with what we already have and probably can get somewhere else?

Very much doubt it will happen. If for some reason it happens, I’m very much fine with that. If not, I’m not gonna lose a second sleep.

It's hard to see where he would fit in now. Having said that, I'm greedy and still think he would be an asset coming off the bench. If he was prepared to fight for his place

Sane to me is no other in our past and current line-up. Always a good role if he was prime Sane. Sane and Sterling.

But ship has sailed, so Grealish adapt to brave himself for that deftness and nimble footwork Sane had. Two very different players though.
