Interesting tactic from City and sounds similar to the Kane strategy - no contact and assume a priceFWIW, The Athletic are reporting that there’s been no bid, or even contact, from City as yet but that the club think they can close the deal for £45-50m.
I'd rather have Douglas BaderI'd sooner have Buster Douglas
I’d rather have a Douglas DC3I'd rather have Douglas Bader
I agree with your first bit, but don't agree he's "plenty good enough", (and I am not going off just one game). I just think he's rash in his challenges and can be a liability, I can imagine him getting penalised much more for us.I agree,he isnt worth the prices quoted, very few players are.
But let's see if he turns up here, and secondly lets wait and see what we actually pay when he does (not that it matters)
He is plenty good enough to be our back up destroyer,or to compliment Rodri when required, thats all thats of importance.
Haha Buster Phillips - The first £10M playerHow about a hybrid - Buster Phillips.
Or lord VaderI'd rather have Douglas Bader
Or James SpaderOr lord Vader
But he's not good enough to be our back up destroyer, that's literally the point. I thought DM was his specialism yet he was played through time and again last night, at one point giving away a goal by doing so.
If we do have a £60mil budget for midfield cover and this guy is the best the club have decided on, then the scouts aren't doing their job properly.
looks like itAre we just signing him because he is English?
I'm not a fan of his by any stretch but you're spot on there. I'd guess certain posters will think similar of Stones, Walker, Sterling & Grealish after the last 4 games.Yeah let's condemn him based on his performance in a nations league game managed by a mediocre manager where the players are all desperate to get on their hols.
Di Marzio claiming documents have been exchanged with Bayern for Roca.no doubt further down the line than this as leeds are already buying midfielders.
