Given we have 4 out of the past 5 league titles, I like that we seem to be targeting players who haven't won much.
Cucurella and Phillips haven't won anything of note I believe. Haaland has won the Austrian league once but I'm sure even he sees that as a minor trophy.

Should help to keep the group hungry and stop any complacency.

Haaland won 2 Austrian League titles (somehow)
and also a DFB-Pokal (German FA Cup) and an Austrian Cup.

He only has a year left on his contract doesn’t he? Even if it was a flat £45m with nothing on top, it’s a great fee. But with anywhere between £5m and £10m add-ons, it’s unreal money. Txiki is on fire this summer.

On the day that we agree the Phillips fee at £42m plus add-ons, this is a weird take. Cucurella deal will have add-ons too. In fact most deals that don’t involve a release clause are structured like that.

The club is doing fantastic business this summer. Paying decent fees for quality and recouping decent fee for players who have only 1 season left to run is impressive.

No need to be negative. The days of city being fleeced look over.

No doubt another Sancho type deal with buy backs and sell on fees. I guess he feel hes not breaking in the first team anytime soon and he is seeing his pals like bynoe gittens getting game time at Dortmund etc.
