this man's a tease..
Just checked to see if that's real.
He, or his agency, are either an expert troll or it's done and dusted effectively.
I’m sad to see him go, but £45m is a pretty decent fee imo, given his contract situation. So much for holding out for £50m
2 league titles and 1 Austrian cup along with the DFB-Pokal with Dortmund…Given we have 4 out of the past 5 league titles, I like that we seem to be targeting players who haven't won much.
Cucurella and Phillips haven't won anything of note I believe. Haaland has won the Austrian league once but I'm sure even he sees that as a minor trophy.
Should help to keep the group hungry and stop any complacency.
Not sure that multiples of book value have anything to do with how good business a deal is.
By that reckoning any money for Foden would be fabulous business presumably he doesn't have a value on our balance sheet.
It's a decent fee no doubt but when everything coming out was holding firm for £50m it's disappointing to see it less than that.I’m sad to see him go, but £45m is a pretty decent fee imo, given his contract situation.
Funny thing is Gittens played for Dortmund’s youth team…probably only got a handful -if it’s even close to that- of games for their first team.oooh. Interesting.
No doubt another Sancho type deal with buy backs and sell on fees. I guess he feel hes not breaking in the first team anytime soon and he is seeing his pals like bynoe gittens getting game time at Dortmund etc.
More money in the pot I guess.....for the Big One!
City are not fucking about this summer. Squad is looking very complete. If we can manage to sweet talk Bernie into staying and sterling signs a new deal then we have a chance to win the league cup again :-)
£50m in the mail. You must be wrong @Ric -:)I’m sad to see him go, but £45m is a pretty decent fee imo, given his contract situation.
I think so too and probably a good move for both parties. He is mad to leave but we will sign a replacement. Felix links won’t go away.Think Sterling has gone personally.

What if Pep is planning to go back to that 532-ish style he wanted to try back when we had Mendy? Especially with Cucurella heavily linked and us moving to more clinical-type forwards.
In possession it could look something like this:
Alvarez Haaland
Cucurella Bernardo KDB Walker
Rodri Cancelo
Dias Stones
Ederson
And out of possession:
Alvarez Haaland
Bernardo KDB
Rodri
Cucurella Dias Stones Walker Cancelo
Ederson
Which if you think about it makes sense. Cancelo can play his inverted role alongside Rodri. We've got KDB and Bernardo between the lines doing their thing. Crucially our two wingbacks who will provide the width and overlap and run up and down the pitch all day and are defensively GOOD. We have Haaland and Alvarez who can play off each other ala Dzeko and Aguero. I really think they can complement each other very nicely.
Finally, we have our centrebacks in Dias and stones at the back to provide the defensive foundation.
This also allows say de bruyne to drift wide as there will be more space in that wide right/ right halfspace area to deliver the crosses into Alvarez and especially Haaland. We also have a midfield overload as we will have 4 in the middle.
This could be our tactical evolution maybe.
Jesus is not quick. At all.also selling both sterling and jesus without bringing in anyone with pace is dicey
Jesus and sterling will be hard to replace. If the new players can reach or surpass their achievements we will be laughing all the way to the champions league and retaining the league. If we trade Ferran, Jesus & Sterling for Haaland, Felix & Alvarez. That just might be the best business in history.
Foden/Grealish will cover De Bruyne/Silva. Mahrez for AlvarezLeaving Foden, Grealish, Mahrez etc... on the bench...he's never doing that.
If we drop to a back 3 it'll be because Rodri has dropped back to fill in.
If he plays Alvarez and Haaland together then it'll be Alvarez playing wide.
