Firefighters offered 2%, ha ha they are taking the piss, expect us to be going out the doors
I hadn't realised until yesterday that the government has the final say on any pay deal on the railways. It is in the rail franchise agreement. So this government are actively involved in keeping this strike going.
Is that because Tories have been lying to you?I hadn't realised until yesterday that the government has the final say on any pay deal on the railways. It is in the rail franchise agreement. So this government are actively involved in keeping this strike going.
Do they have a say in exec bonuses and share dividends too, or are they perhaps content to leave these to 'market forces'?I hadn't realised until yesterday that the government has the final say on any pay deal on the railways. Offered NHS staff similar which was taken and taxed back, last year.
The Gov have no shame in exacting guilt in the right situations and forcing acceptance when it's, patently, unacceptable.
The TV media has a lot to answer for, in this regard, media like GMB who, actively, shame NHS for asking for more with the conditions they're under. Much more than when they grill ministers about giving pay rises, same as they do with the RMT strikes.

NEU will be issuing an electronic indicative ballot to its members in August with a view to mail ballot for Autumn action. Sadly, as has happened far too often in the past, the teaching voice will be fragmented across the 7 or 8 unions that represent us; I also predict the 50% requirement for returned ballots won’t be met (too many staff cowed by headteachers or simply apathetic) and we’ll be stuck with another real terms pay cut. I hope I’m wrong and we get our collective act together.
I think they'll send in agency barristers who have done the one hour "how to be a barrister" online training or have read the Ladybird book of barristering.
Alternatively they'll redeploy dyslexic workers from Costa Coffee and Starbucks.
Only 2 of us at my place. But, as I pointed out, we’re a fragmented bunch. NAHT, NEU, NASUWT etc. We’re also an increasingly young bunch who seem politically illiterate and incapable of standing up for ourselves. On verra...My wife’s a primary school teacher. Last time there was a one strike, she was the only one at the school to miss the day. She wouldn’t do it again.
No flies on you mate.I think they’re baristas, not barristers.
