Beeb nailing their colours firmly to the mast this morning. Switched from Breakfast TV over to BBC News on 2, both pushing the " No alternative to Boris and must soldier on ". Bent fookers.

Johnson’s claiming that he won’t change simply means that the same thing will recur. Other people will be put forward to mouth His ’explanations’, yet when those explanations are almost immediately disproven, it will lead to another resignation.

With so many resignations, a problem he might soon face is having insufficient people to fill positions.
 
Just listened to a few minutes of Nicky Campbell on 5live.
It‘s hilarious- full of shrieking mail reader gammon banging on about the ‘media remainer conspiracy’ to oust the PM
Apparently Campbell is a cheerleader for this.
But seriously, it’s quite disturbing to listen to some of the extraordinary delusion bordering on hysteria.

In 2017, effectively 72% of all votes didn’t count for anything.
In the 2017 election it took 26,000 votes for the SNP to win a seat compared with over 800,000 for the Green Party.
Labour had to gain over 50,000 votes to elect each MP, while the Conservatives needed only 38,000.

In 2015, it was even worse! Over 3.8M votes for the UKIP Party won 1 seat and the greens got 1.1M (300,000 less than the total SNP vote) for one seat.

Whilst the following obviously changed in 2019, given what’s going on, it’s likely most if not all will revert back and some of the stats are quite damning.

  • 98 Labour seats haven’t changed hands since WWII (37% of their 2017 total).
  • 94 Conservative seats haven’t changed hands since WWII (30% of their 2017 total)
  • 65 seats haven’t changed hands since 1918 or earlier (10% of seats) – affecting 4.8m potential voters
  • 192 seats haven’t changed hands since 1945 or earlier (30% of seats): affecting 13.7m potential voters
Simple fact is that the government got 44% of the vote, 56% of the seats and 100% of the power. In 2017, if 533 had voted differently, there would have been a majority government and not a hung parliament.
Almost half of all voters are represented by an MP/ party they didn’t vote for. Apparently that’s democracy!!

Do you dislike the BBC in particular? I mean on gb news they're actually saying it is the civil servants fault that the government are so stifled, no wonder Boris can't do the job because people don't want to work. That's bias imo

Labour should get rid of Starmer and I would love Lisa Nandy to be in contention to be Labour leader

The saddest thing about all of this is that those people just invested fully in Brexit and feel that they have ’won’ something with it. They cannot explain what it is they have won and no amount of economic pain will convince them otherwise.
