It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

ya Alvarez is nowhere our level and hence why pep is willing to bin off sterling and put him in the team instead. It is very clear that because we are very will to let sterling go this year without a replacement because pep already thinks alvarez is an upgrade on sterling.

This. People are forgetting Pep is willing to let Sterling go. He would’ve kept him as a squad player, but the truth is Sterling played a lot games less last season, and he brought in Alvarez to bolster the attack. That should show everyone where this is going. He is sick and tired of Sterling freezing time and time again in front of a keeper, stopping promising counter attacks and his absolutely awful finishing. It’s laughable he has made so much money week in, week out, despite all of this. Pep and the City board finally came to their senses, but it took them long enough. This is an upgrade to our team, absolutely no doubt about it.

[emoji599] @mancity currently has no plans to replace Raheem Sterling, but will look to replace Nathan Ake if he decides to leave.

Bad news.
It really isn’t.

We have Phillips/rodri deep

Bernardo/de bruyne/Gundogan for the other two spots

Foden/grealish/mahrez for the wide spots

Haaland/Alvarez up top.

Plus Cole palmer coming through.

Alvarez will probably play as more of a wide attacker anyway which means we have 4.

well said. that is what I am trying to explain to bluemoon residents here as well

What has Alvarez done that makes you think he is better than Sterling?

Just looking at his finishing abilities and his overall football style should reveal this. I’m surprised people can’t see it. Sterling has been surrounded with the best striker in prem history, the best midfielders in premier league history. Of course he would rack up goals and assists. But put Alvarez in this company and you will see him absolutely flourish. I can’t wait.

because pep is willing to let go sterling and have alvarez instead. that should say it really.
Pep wanted Sterling to stay. There's a contract offer on the table. It's Sterling who wants to leave.

If Alvarez gets anywhere near Sterling's goals and assists next season I'll be amazed. People see Alvarez score 6 goals against some mid table Peruvian team and conclude he is a world beater.

Thanks for the inside track on Pep's thoughts, person who joined 3 days ago.

It would be touch and go if we didn't replace Ake (although it is not entirely impossible to go with the 3 senior defenders and the EDS player)

Couldn’t that be because he believes Palmer is ready to step up?
palmer is replacing torres minutes if anything. a development player of sorts. I don't expect him to be a first choice player in big games.

Lol. Loving your reasoning there.

Bad news.

This is a terrible terrible mistake if this is true.

We would have no game-breaking pace on the wings, and it could badly badly hurt us, Especially if Barca find a way to get Bernardo.

He's looked good in a sub standard league. It's no guarantee he will succeed in the prem
