Have Chelsea come in for kitman Brandon and the tea lady yet?
In negotiations over wages .
Have Chelsea come in for kitman Brandon and the tea lady yet?
I don't see a need to do that. We've done pretty well the last 2 years you'd agreeBut that's the point: if we're going to sell Ake, we'll buy someone better than him (at least in terms of potential)
The point is not to debate the relative merits, it’s that they have four senior international CBs and even the lesser of those just signed a five year deal. So keeping four happy needn’t necessarily be impossible.4? Gomez and Tsimikas are 2 of their 5 and they're a big drop off from the main 3.
That's a lazy piece, someone with no idea.We don't need any players like Salisu. Waste of money! In any case, if we buy someone, he should be someone who can compete for the starting line-up!
When Barcelona input their financial history to get another loan at moneysupermarketAnyone got any idea when the internet is going to be broken? I have a couple of Zoom calls that's all.
Definitely, nearly as good as Leicester rinsing the Rags for £80m for slab head.If we get anywhere near 60m for Ake there should be a Txiki Begiristain statue outside the ground
Been there, done that and got Dias instead thankfullyKoulibaly would be perfect. but Napoli would be incredibly hard to negotiate with.
Quality news! Zina completely changed that left hand side when he came on against Villa.Pep is convinced we don't need to replace Sterling for the left and Zinchenko should fill the requirement for him and the left back rotation.
Hope the lad trusts Pep :)
But Ake is a level above Matip, Gomes, Tsimikas and Konate so why would he want to be 4th choice, as is widely reported? I would imagine Ake would have been quite happy to stay, but playing regularly, at 27, must appeal and good luck to him, I say.The point is not to debate the relative merits, it’s that they have four senior international CBs and even the lesser of those just signed a five year deal. I think the Ake situation is purely related to a perfect storm of a weirdly timed World Cup and interest from the club where he started out, which itself is at least partly inspired by the fallout from external political factors.
In a normal year, I reckon Ake stays put quite happily, at least for another season or two
I really don't think Ake is a level above matip/konate, I'd say they are both comfortably betterBut Ake is a level above Matip, Gomes, Tsimikas and Konate so why would he want to be 4th choice, as is widely reported? He has played 40 games for city in 2 seasons which is 10 more than Tsimikas and Gomez combined. I would argue that the reason the four 'senior internationals' have signed is two-fold. One is obviously the cash and 2, more importantly, Chelsea (or any other top level club) are not in for them.
Pep obviously prefers Laporte and Dias (even when it always looks, to me at least, that Stones and Dias look the best pairing) as his first choice and he always seems loath to keep someone in the team just because they've played well. That being said, he does seem to know what he is doing, so I am not criticising him.
Ake leaving
doubt he knows anything but the odds have moved a lot over the last few daysgo on...
Tsimikas signed in August 2020 and made his debut in September of the same year, which I reckon is 2 seasons. Played 2 PL games that season which was the season Van Dyke was out, and 13 the next. I reckon that is 2 seasons ago.Ake is not a level above matip/konate.
Also, Gomez has been injured for nearly an entire year of the 2 years Ake has been at city and tsimikas has been at Liverpool for 1 year out of the two, so that's an extremely disingenuous comparison.
In fact, tsimikas (Liverpool's second choice left back) has had the same amount of minutes as Ake this season - around 1700.
Question or statement?Ake leaving

You're right about tsimikas, he has played for the dippers for 2 seasons, I thought he was only there for one season, my bad.Tsimikas signed in August 2020 and made his debut in September of the same year, which I reckon is 2 seasons. Gomez made his debut in 2015 as an 18 year old and, in seven seasons, he has made 87 appearances.
Konate might turn out to be a fabulous player and you could be right about him, but then again.....
Matip is 30 and has played over 40 fewer PL games than Ake. I get you don't rate the lad, and I think he is only ever going to be 4th choice here, but why aren't Chelsea chasing any of those players?
Ahh, was he. I must admit to have only seen highlights and he seemed to be either very wide or if not, in the opposition box.LCB in a back 3. The wing back position went to Vale. Nonetheless, agree with you on Doyle being the better of the two.
That’s alright. I watched the competition…he was MOTM in the final as well. I’d say he needs another loan. Nonetheless, he’s better than Mbete for me. My opinionAhh, was he. I must admit to have only seen highlights and he seemed to be either very wide or if not, in the opposition box.
