It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

interesting thought… but I can see absolutely no logic in that. Pep absolutely loves the day to day involvement and working with players to improve them… honestly think he hate watching endless games and very occasional involvement with players.
Imagine him trying to teach Henderson Pepball in the 5 training sessions he’d get with him each year.

The man’s good, but he’s not a miracle worker.

He's a very talented player but I didn't think he played DM? More a CM/AM? Although he did remind me of Pogba, and we were interested in him.
Exactly but also pulls his weight defensively. And pep WAS interested in pogba which is why I think this is interesting

I agree though managing England would let him stay around English football which he clearly loves and he's always said long term he'd like to manage some national team.

I am fucking sick of hearing about fucking Barcelona
For a club virtually bankrupt due to decades of profligacy. Yet they’re still in the transfer market whilst that hypocrite Teabag sneers at us.

Just pleased that demented loon FCBarca is no longer on here. Maybe he just changed user name to Brazilian Gus.

I don't see much nice debate. Just a lot of huffing and puffing for the sake of it. I also think it's pretty unfortunate that so many people "debate" in bad faith. Phillips is at the very least, a very good PL player. Yet listening to posters like you and one or two others you'd think he's barely championship level.

Way of the world I guess. People can only argue from polarised positions these days.
Isn't regularly inferring racism when posters were critical of Sterling after a poor performance not "a polarised position" or debating " in bad faith"?

Phillips would be an excellent signing. This is the same market where midfielders are going for £80m on average. Rice is valued at £150m and I don't see anything that he has over Kalvin to laud him like crazy. £60m is steep, but it's smart business, we're not operating based on what social media says. Phillips allows us to have 2 DMs start in games when needed too. Get him in ASAP, homegrown as well, experienced and will fulfill the needs.

I see we've entered Panto season again on the transfer forum.

"he's the messiah!"

"no, he's just a very naughty boy!"

I do wish people would try and be a bit less reactionary. You don't have to rate every player the club sign, but these endless lists of random foreign players who have incredible stats on Football Manager as alternative targets are pretty tiresome.

Don’t use ‘messiah’ in the transfer forum, I get both excited and PTSD.

I've been hearing about SMS leaving Lazio for a bigger club since 2018. I wonder why that hasn't happened yet. It's already been pointed out, but he's much more of an advanced midfielder than what Phillips and Rodri are.

I'm tired of fitting square pegs into round holes whenever we have an injury. We've been doing it at left back for a couple seasons and I don't want to do it at another position if we don't have to.
