As a short term solution for the 4th CB think Ben Mee on a 2 year contract
He is on a free
This will be his last payday
He is a born and bred Blue
Sorry every time I see this mentioned all i can think of is
Ben Mee, tulibu-libu dachu!

This 4th choice thing is weird that people keep saying. Laporte and Stones can't stay fit for an entire season. I'm sorry but if a centre back sees that all he knows he has to do is stay fit and he will take that starting position with Dias. 2nd position is up for grabs for any centre back
But who knows what’s going to happen during the World Cup. 3 of our centre backs are nailed on starters for country and likely to get to the latter stages. 4th centre back may not even be at the World Cup and could be a nailed on starter post World Cup till the end of the season… who knowsReality though, Laporte and Dias are Peps No 1 starters with Boulders at 3.
I advocate competition but sitting on the bench for the majority of Premier games outside injury and suspension has to be factored in surely.
I think City will sort out a replacement 1st ( verbal agreement or officially) and then sell Ake
Pol did say that going in with 4 CBs is an absolute priority for him.
So Ake negotiations may well take time as not as straight forward as Sterling's
Expensive too. I like Forfana.I know City like a couple of the defenders at Leicester and they aren't named JFE.
Justin and Fofana have both been looked at, but both are predominantly right-footed?

Also personally don’t think there is an order for Dias, Laporte and Stones

But how many did Stones start the season before that - and that was with a fully fit Laporte… I just don’t think it’s a guarantee that Laporte and Dias are first choices going into this season.I disagree Boulders started less than 15 games in the Premiership last season.
Take your point on World Cup and we only have to cast our minds back to the last few games of last season when our 3 CB's were injured.
It's a difficult one because nobody wants to sit on the bench that's the conundrum we need to solve.
After listening to Ornstein and reading TH’s comments It’s possible that the timeline isn’t just that we may have found a replacement but more that we aren’t going along with Boehl’s tactic of negotiation personal terms and then parking the deal while he looks for a better one.If what tolmie has said were true, re City giving Chelsea a timeline or he stays, it would suggest the club already have a replacement and the likelyhood as an option in mind.
Asked someone that knows abit of info about Leipzig said that Gvardiol has played Left back, LWB, centre back , popped up in midfield and left wing as well, also likes to drive into the midfield when he does play centre back to join attacks dribbling past players. Said he’s an anomaly at centre back as he has pace to burn. Incredibly composed on the ball he’s like a midfielder playing as a defender greatest attribute is his vision can pick out a pass like nothing.
also said he can see why we would want him as he has the potential to be the best centre back in the world in a few years time. He has everything.
Only tricky at the end of the season, someone would want out.De Ligt is far more physically aggressive than Laporte and Stones, a natural leader, and is five years younger than both of them. The only problem, save the price, is that his arrival would quickly put someone’s nose out of joint because their playing time would go down. It’s a tricky one for the management if Ake goes.
Ffs,a player that wasn't good enough when we were shitHe‘s shit though.
Why would we sell a very good player like Aké for a carthorse like Ben Mee? It wouldn’t make any sense.
We can’t weaken the squad, we need a player who doesn’t make us dodgy at the back when called upon.
Come to think of it Aké is perfect for us I‘ve no idea why we agreed to sell him and putting ourselves in this position at all.
Why not just tell the chavs to fuck off? It’s not like they’re some big club who are a step up from us is it. Why aren’t they trying to bid for Matip or Gomez from the scousers, why do the chav cunts think we’re a soft touch. Really fucking annoys me, and them getting Sterling, feels like fucking 2006 or something.
Just hoof it up the pitch to Haaland is my guess ;-)Is there any thread about possible tactics for this season given our new signings?
Very true, especially Chelsea, they need at least two top class CB's.So why none looking to buy him seeing he has all those abilities!?
Not sure I agree with that. I think all 3 of them are first choice centre backs. Stones and Dias being my preferred starters
Sadly Johnny gets more than his fair share of injuries, hence the need for 4 top class CB'sStones is clearly first choice when fit, the other two play off him.
