Neymar

Would you be bothered if he ended up at United or the scousers? I know for a fact I wouldn’t be. I don’t think anyone would give a fuck if he came here. More likely opposition fans would be rubbing their hands together at the thought of him disrupting the dressing room
Yes. I don’t particularly want him but he would hugely strengthen both of them. He’s an excellent footballer, he’s just a twat which puts me off.

Just to confirm, this thread has gone gangbusters over 93.20Blue’s shout that we’re in for him, and it’s blown up on social media based on that poster’s shout on here?

There’s literally no other source saying it?

You have to admit, that IS impressive isn't it.

And sad at the same time, explains the utter lack of conviction and the general careless flappery of the media today.

It comes down to 4 things as to my view on signing him.

Is he a talented player - pretty much

Is he as good as the hype - well has he really proved it domestically in a wank league and for brasil, for me no, has skills and talent but no more apies it better than what we have.

Is he a mard arse cheating, diving, moaning type or a david/bernie type skillfull grafter? - the former.

Does he possibly like to finger his sister? Jurys out :-)

So for me I don't think we need him over what we have, as always if he comes then welcome, but if he doesn't won't be arsed at missing out

If Pep wants him then who am I to say no but only on the proviso that Pep extends as I don’t think any other manager can control the twat’s ego.

This transfer window and the signings have at times made me convinced that Pep is extending, and at times made me question whether the club is building for post-pep. Overall still feel he will stay longer, but till it is official, a bit of doubt will have a little corner in there somewhere.

You are right. But bet you if he was properly linked with them, most of this forum, including many of those that 'want' him would be lolling no end with a they are spending a forune on a has-been big name mercinary that will disrupt their dressing room and do fuck all take.

And on one hand, they wouldn't be entirely wrong.

How times have changed

Bottom line. If Guardiola didn't want him, or didn't think he could get the best out of him, we won't be sniffing around. If, indeed, we are. It doesn't matter what I, or some other no-marks on a football forum, say.

On that basis, 60 million and 350K a week for Neymar would be a snip.

And why anybody would care what other fans say, I don't know. They are mostly idiots.

I voted yes because he is absolute class. Maybe at certain clubs (including red shirts) players are encouraged to dive and roll around. I think here, he might buy into our graft and guile ethos and be truly a game changer. I think someone’s already posted his stats and they do not suggest he is lazy etc. Get him!

How likely is it that someone who is not paid to know about our transfer activity knows more than people like Jack Gaughan? Might be wrong, but I don't think it's likely at all.

I think Neymar is a great player and Pep can handle him, but we won't sign him because of Grealish (it could have ramifications also for Foden, KDB...), it would mean the death of his chances to establish himself as an important player for us. Fans may think to themselves, 'Fuck Jack, I want Neymar', but this is not how Pep and Txiki think. They paid 100m for a reason, and won't make him a bit part player. Their perspective may be quite different to that of most fans.

If we don't lose Bernardo, we won't sign another midfielder or attacker, only a new LB, imo.

Last year we had that Ronaldo thread and this year it's this one. There's been the Messi ones too amongst others. It's like every year in closed season there has to be a thread of this type.

It won't be long before people start tracking planes and putting stories about mates who work in private hospitals who have heard about arranged medicals. That's when it starts getting good!

I have very mixed thoughts on Neymar, i do believe he is a fantastic footballer, very quick, supremely skillfull, creative and entertaining, but on the other hand i absolutely detest his diving and rolling about antics, would wind you up no end if he was your opponent to the point where you want to two foot him off the pitch, but, overall i would want him at city, just the thought of Neymar, Foden, De Bruyne and Mahrez etc behind Haaland would be even more devastating than it already is.

I voted Yes, I think If he were to come to us he would be a great addition to our team, but only If the price Is right and he doesn't break our wage structure, he could be THE game changer.

Yeah I reckon them real tight games, teams defending for their lives we need neymar doing kick ups on the byline. If anyone thinks we will sign him, at his age, with his injury record for the money it will take, then you’re fucking deluded

You think he wants to swap Paris for Manchester and take a wage cut too.
That's if this rumour is true.
