It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

you say that but we tried with Messi and Ronaldo. Rumours we were interested in Lewandowski last summer too.
He's already denied that we were in for these 2,he claims it was only speculation.
Theirs nothing you can do to help him, when he is either blind or deaf as to what was going on for months ,regarding Messi and last season with the idiot who landed at the piggery .

Cucurella to CITY
Full Back to CITY**

God it was hot today not looking forward to the same again tomorrow. Those that could drag themselves to their keyboards were still talking about the same two issues. Is Neymar coming or not being the first. The few reports that were covering this story seemed to have back-tracked somewhat saying City pulled out due to wage demands while others said it was never on in the first place.

Second topic was the running issue of full backs mentioned below. City were linked with a new name Mr Sosa from Stuttgart who is available for around £20Million so talk was would we buy both him and Cucurella if Zin left or still go with three full backs. Talking of Zin he is still our player but is reportedly negotiating personal terms with Arsenal. City and the Gunners having agreed a fee of £30 million. Discussions were concerned with how good a player Zin is and, if he went, how much we would miss him. The latest info is from Ornstein, a really good source for Arsenal, and is the very next post.

**Fairly even split as to if City will start the season with 3 specialist full backs or 4 but most reports suggest Cucurella is a Mendy replacement and Zinchenko will also be replaced if he leaves. No new Cucurella news again today with posters speculating what the continued delay might be.

I’ll post one of these most evenings around this time on this thread

You are welcome.

Please note this isn’t a summary of what is in the news, what I reckon or what will definitely happen. It’s only a summary of what is currently being discussed on the thread. If a topic is being discussed I might join in as a regular poster! :-)

Ron burgundy style please next time.

If you guys listened to the Icelandic podcast interview with Ferran Soriano a few weeks back. He mentioned that City only had 2 needs in the market. A striker (Haaland) and a Ferna replacement (Phillips). Which i clearly took to mean that any other signing (like LB), would mean that somebody had to leave.

I wonder if this may make it even harder to get Cucurella if Brighton know we now only have 2 fullbacks at the club.
I've been saying this puts us in a bad spot negotiating wise, but it also makes me more comfortable in that they probably know what it will take to get him and are willing to pay it.

Yeah maybe. If I heard Walker was off tomorrow too I think I’d just shrug my shoulders and think Pep has a 3 5 2 system in mind. I’m lost!

Why are you on here every night saying we are signing 2 full backs . You’re the only person saying this lmao

For anyone doing the math that's £208million in base fees for City in the calendar year.

The Galacticos were all older, fully established super stars, Figo, Brazilian Ronaldo, Beckham, Zidane, etc....there were not young rising stars like Haaland...just saying...
