Bernardo Silva

Think so. I am not saying he will force a move as its not in his character but we all thought after covid things would get back to normal and he would start to enjoy his football again. He has wanted out now for 2 seasons! Gutted like everyone else. Swap for Neymar and move Foden into the middle. Kavlin is in now to help the midfield so we have options.
and my point was, with 3 years left we're not likely to be talking to him about signing a new deal yet

Well this is shit fucking news. Not unexpected but still shit. If Bernie wants out that badly we have to negotiate his exit. I don’t say that lightly but no matter the player if he is unhappy and his mind made up then get the best fee possible and look for a replacement. I am not sure we need a like for like replacement even if one existed. I would prefer us to try and find a genuine David silva replacement. Or stop pissing about with Foden on the wings and put him into the middle permanently. We need guile and creativity.

Silva is a top pro but his head has been turned. No point feeling sorry for ourselves. We didn’t have a Sergio and found 1, we didn’t have a Dave and found one, we didn’t have a Bernie and found one. When on form he is exceptional. I watched the game last night until I didn’t and he don’t seem himself. He has seen lots of players leave and still a deal can’t be found for his release.

The only worry I would have for Bernie is that Barca don’t seem to view him as a pivotal player otherwise he would have been purchased before Lewandowski and raphinha but that’s his decision. He will not be at the club in 12 months.

Huge changes for the team. Existing but daunting at the same time.
Think he be here for 12 months though so , plenty of time to be ready for it, in fact we are probably already planning for it.

We'll sell next summer and replace him with Bellingham
I think Bellingham could well come in with Gundogan and Bernardo leaving, but personally think Foden will be the real Bernardo replacement , they have a lot of the same qualities. Might need us needing a new winger though.
As much as I’d like Bernardo to stay I don’t think he’s any less replaceable than David Silva, Aguero, Fernandinho, Toure, Kompany were.

I would say if anyone offers £150m you're valued at then we will let you leave - and ask his missus to go find a club for him that will pay. She might hate the UK/Manchester - but this is his career - we have given him his platform. Or just say 1 more season and make sure a replacement is lined up - I'll lose my shit if they bow down to those Cunts Barca and let him go on the cheap

Agreed

Totally agree but some players have the likeability factor and its harder to let go.
David Silva leaving was gutwrenching but we'd been given lots of notice, the fact we had him for 7 years was awesome.

Funny seeing people panicking from those quotes. It's been obvious that he is open to a move for a while. Remember his quotes during the nations league? About "let's see what happens" when asked about Barca interest.

However, he has 3 years left on his contract and i'd imagine City would ask for a huge fee. Which Barca might not pay. The club are clearly not panicking. Which is why you don't see any midfielders being linked with us.
Yeah I remember those quotes. Those were the same quotes where a handful of us scratched out head and though “that’s weird” and dozens of other posters flipped out and said it was perfectly normal lol. It’s extremely clear he’s wanting to leave and that’s been clear since he made his initial comments while with portugal.

I think Bellingham is off to Liverpool, I've just seen Pacist the Racist on Sky Sports saying how he should go there. He also says that he would like to see him in red but also that red suits him. Unless he's just a thick scouser, hard to say really.

Although I'm sure if City do buy him there will be an interview with the same dullard telling us he's a waste of money

Don’t know who you are talking about but don’t see why anyone on Sky would make you think he’s going to liverpool. Fairly sure if we go for him we’ll get him.

I think this season will be Bernardo Silva last season with us unfortunately. I don't think we will let it go into the last year of his contract. Pity he won't sign a new deal, He's one of those players you want to last forever.
spot on,but its one of those things we have to respect whether we like it or not especially as hes going to another club. Vinnie,Yaya, Merlin were easier to cope with leaving as they either retired or went into management.

Swap for Neymar PLUS they give us £150m AND pay Neymar’s wages and it STILL wouldn’t be enough.
Neymar is hugely overrated and Bernardo is one of the best players in the world.

Merlin's still going strong at Real Sociedad

Hes very injury-prone the last 1,5 seasons though unfortunately.. probably winding down soon.

Real Sociedad is trying to cover for him this season with a couple of players, hes been VERY integral when hes played.
