De Jong is not the level of Bernardo so Ill ask...who do you think we could get that is the same level if we let him go.
 
bernardo-silva has been a media target ever since that Mendy text and I think it's a target attack in the media that they keep putting out to unsettle the play and club ? it's been a couple of seasons NOW

why would bernardo-silva want to leave the best run club in the world with players like KDB foden grealish haaland Dias walker rodri
 
I can’t see Pep allowing Bernardo to go, on top of Sterling, Jesus, Zinchenko.
Bernardo is the talisman that connects the play all round the pitch. Plus he named his dog after John Stones, he can’t go!!
 
I’d rather see Bernado go to PSG than Barca, Barca are a shambles. Obviously I’d rather see him stay! But Bernado plays week in week out and is a key player for us. He wants to leave for personal reasons and do you think moving to France especially Paris really helps that. He wants Spain. It’s Barca or stay at City in my opinion.

I appreciate what you're saying here, are you really sure you can't quite get why Grealish is more marketable...

"in the UK/England"?

That was what the rest of my sentence was pointing to as well.

I listed some reasons why Grealish' being English makes him particularly valuable to a club like City one being due to perceived negatives/media coverage in the UK/England in seeking to change that.

However, even whilst marketing value no doubt was one key incentive behind signing him, and why we pay the 100m, more than clubs from outside of the PL would pay, there is no way City would sign a player primarily for marketing reasons, clearly.

Are we not forgetting how adored he was during the Euros by English fans whinging on and on about how he didn't start every game? He also has extreme confidence, good looking, and personality and...is Enlglish, which leads to younger / more casual fans more likely to catch their interest.

You don't think we have more younger and more casual "glory hunter" fans (like ALL successful clubs do in any sport) from the UK now both from and not from Greater Manchester than the past as a result of signing him?

Ian Cheesman interviews some of them (one a "Yank" that I was embarrassed to see him interview making us all sound like this after a match last season).

All I know living in Asia I see loads of City shirts , especially in the last 5 years, we are becoming very popular here.

But I see very few Grealish shirts, lots of KDB and since signing Haaland shirts are everywhere.

He could be incredibly marketable, but he has to do it on the pitch first and foremost, he has to become a England regular and he has to turn up at the World Cup and boss it.

I think the club want players that are marketable worldwide , not just the UK.

Marketing is hugely important but not for one second do I believe the club bought him for that reason.

Not the first time (already going since he is announced 100m signed player), he already made up his mind regarding Grealish. You never going to convince this side of crowd.

The notion that Grealish is worth more than just his footballing skill is still alien concept to this people, no matter how much logical your argument is.

Add Bernardo via buying for less than his value (sure to happen) and their valuation goes up anyway, no?

Did anyone not see his mediocre body language after Haaland Alvarez scored his goal in the Community Sheild?

He seemed an outsider...like Raz looked increasingly last season.

EDIT: I mean Alvarez scored NOT Haaland!
