Which do you prefer 20 shots no goals or 1 shot 1 goal?
Yes I get what you are saying, and like I said not sure if it's good or bad, thought we got the job done today and more than happy with the win l, just didn't think we looked very exciting to watch

According to the BBC News just now he cost £85m.

WTF ?
Probably the final fee with add-ons for appearances, wins etc? I could be wrong but seem to remember something about an additional payment if City win the CL.

Lastly, I will just say that, if Sterling or Jesus had either taken the penalty or had that Haaland chance for the second goal, I doubt that they would have scored both of them - that's the difference we've acquired with Haaland, with all respect for Sterling and Jesus, who both scored plenty for us over the years.
Totally agree.

I loved Jesus and was sorry to see him go, but we can't keep every player at the club. Same with Sterling to some extent.

However, IF they had managed to get the penalty then I wouldn't feel comfortable with them taking it. Let's be honest, they probably wouldn't have done and KdB would've took it and I still wouldn't feel comfortable.

The second goal wouldn't have happened. It was what a great striker does and he had the pace and composure to make it look simple. It's the kind of run Aguero would've made - and finished. That chance with Jesus or Sterling probably wouldn't have happened, or if it did it wouldn't have gone in. That's my view and it's what we've lacked over the last few years.

I just can't wait to see how good he is once he's settled in!!

Darren Lewis only gets on Sky because of his colour. By proclaiming there is institutional racism in football in this country towards black managers, coaches, journalists he keeps himself in a job. Even for an Arsenal fan he knows little about football and talks utter shite. Although he does say it slowly to appear more intelligent
He's an utter twat

Tough to play against like most of Moyes's teams though. I thought we were really good, never easy on a tough away match at the start of the season. Looked like a hot day too which makes a difference.

Very good assessment, probably the best comment of the day.

So 2 out of Last 3 titles and we missed it, I don't get the let's everyone get on ex players backs and say if they played it wouldn't have happened, why not just celebrate the fact we won, if you want to nit pick had Jesus had 2 headers that haaland funked up they probably go in, but hey ho if my aunty had a dick she would be my uncle

A very controlled win.....

Understandably we were not any where near full throttle .....we played slower than we would do normally but we know that will come after the first 5 or 6 games.

Haaland will get the plaudits but Rodri and Walker were fantastic...Cancello a bit off in the first half but very good in the second.
KDB - thought it was a typiclal early season performance from him....a bit hit and miss BUT when it mattered he was world class.
Foden great ball retention, not sure he is as comfortable on the right and he seemed to stay even wider than normal bit we know his class
Gundogan barring that one blind pass was excellent
Grealish - wasted good positions in the first half and his balls into the box could have been a lot better, bur he was much improved in the second half......good to see him having a go at goal as well

Interesting Peps comments about Haaland after the game about wanting to make him a better player - I seem to remember Pep saying something very very similar about Aguero just after he arrived.....he always knew that Kun could score goals (he said something along the lines of Im not going to teach Sergio how to put the ball in the net but I want to make him a better all around player) Pep did this is as well and if he can do it with a seasoned pro like Kun he can do it with Haaland

Edit: Even though he was only on the pitch a short amount of time Alvarez again looked very good...comparrisons with either Tevez or Kun can easily be drawn but he works very hard also like Jesus...Alvarez closing down is very good (as was Foden's today)

Enjoyed Neville's comment too; "It's almost like it's an unfair competition". Give it a couple of seasons, they'll probably start handicapping us.

But as I have said you can't compare them, as 2 completely different players, sterling shouldn't even be part of the conversation as he is no longer a city player, just like on the Arsenal thread the other night trying to justify why Jesus and Zinchenco were not at the club, quite pathetic really

I am delighted that we won, I've already said that.

I'm not getting on their backs, I've said that I was sorry to see them go, but let's be absolutely clear - Haaland is a significant upgrade on both of them.

I really liked Sterling as a player - fast, tricky and his movement was brilliant but as a finisher he was poor. He wouldn't have scored that 2nd goal today. Haaland will score these chances and I honestly think that he will win us the CL this season. We've not had a striker since Aguero left and today we've seen one who's absolute class.

Basic common sense says you want to score as many as possible so the fact that we're now more likely to has to be a bonus.

You seem to be having your own discussion without me as this has nothing to do with anything I've said so I'll leave you talking to yourself...

We were sluggish and struggling to create chances despite our dominance. Without Haaland we don't win that game. The pace to get onto that ball to win the pen. Scoring it. Then, when under a bit of pressure, timing the run and slotting home so easily...that is the difference having a proper no. 9.

Alvarez came on and worked like a dog. He is one hell of a runner and will undoubtedly be a fan favourite and very easily help us get over Jesus.

It's a team game and he's playing the way Guardiola wants him to play for the team. Played an important part in the 2nd goal and did very well overall.
Load of tripe coming out and it's passing me right off. You summed it up-Jacky boy is doing a decent job and I thought played well today. Raheem also did a good job for us and often played his part. Sick of fans having a go at one of our players or comparing Haaland with Sterling.
Sterling's had his time and gone.
Grealish is playing his part and the team has had a good start.
Saddos posting sad stuff.

The good news is after just 1 game (and yes I know it's only 3 points), we are +5 points net on where liverpool were at this stage last season, we are 3 points better off by winning, and they are 2 points worse off by drawing, so a very good start, we are also 2 points up on the equivalant match (WHU away), and 3 points up on first game.

I didn't think we that we played that well, yes we controlled the game for the large part, and our passing was good, but we didn't really create very much in all honesty.

We were good I don't dispute it, but and I will probably get slated for it, this sideways then back then sideways then back then sideways then back is boring to watch, I know people will say oh but they set up to defend, and again probably get slated but under mancini teams did it, but we attacked with pace, and was very effective, now it seems we are not allowed to score a goal before we complete 30 passes

I don't understand why making some sort of comment amounts to getting on ex-players backs. All people are doing is quoting the scenario as they see it. What it comes down to is we're expecting Haaland to score more than Sterling and Jesus (possibly even more than both of them combined?)

Nobody is criticising those players who have left, we all know they played their part, but facts are facts. For all we know Haaland could turn out to be a flop but it doesn't seem likely does it? Given the choice right now, who would you rather have?
