Surely all the players they signed this summer are collectively on more than de Jong is on.I think it is a detail often lost, and that doesn't really get clarified in reports or twitter claims.
As I understand it, from the numerous in depth articles during messigate, it is about wages, not money raised sales, up until the point they are excessively over the wage cap.
So they could get 200m for deyong. It doesnt mean they have 200m to reduce their gap to register players. Removing his wages, does. I could be wrong, but that is how I read La Liga rules last year.
If City showed any interest in FDJ, he would be attracted to working under Pep.I don't think Frenkie is interested in coming to City. I think he goes to Chelsea.
Barca need both a big fee and someone to pay the deferred wages. City wouldn't entertain that.
I think for Pep its negligent to have players in the squad who don't want to be here. We don't know if that is the case for Bernardo because I don't think he would ever go public and will just get his head down but if Pep looks into his eyes and thinks the passion isn't there then hes got to go.
Might be something in this I heard Nespresso were going to sponsor the deal to help with his wages !!!Spanish outlet Fichajes has claimed that Liverpool could now join the race for Silva amid their midfield injury crisis, with Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all out of action.
FUCKING LOL
Fucking hell it's never ending.
I don't understand how they can afford Bernie, let alone where they're going to play him.
My understanding is that they need to reduce their wage bill to comply with la liga rules.
So even if they sell FDJ for say €80m and we fold and sell Bernie to them for that price, they still have to pay FDJ the deferred wages owed and my guess is that Bernie, being better than FDJ, will get paid at least what he gets - £220/week , so surely they wouldn't be any better off, and probably worse off, financially?

The big question is, how can Bernardo gambles his football career on Barcelona? This whole wage war with the players is a red flag to go there.Fucking hell it's never ending.

Yeah but if Bernie went for less than what FDJ is getting (£220k/wk) then he's crazy.I think they’re banking on Chelsea’s desperation bailing them out of the shit, and getting them off the hook on the deferred wages - meaning they pay Bernie less than they were FDJ, clear the debt to the player, and improve their situation on the wage cap all in a single swoop.
Mendes will be pushing this one hard to make it happen for this summer too.
Agreed, ask him to stay one more season as we are now In a position to win the CL with our new signings, then If we win It he can go after winning everything to be won with City, with our blessings.Tell the player he is required this season and we will get him to Barcelona next year if needed.
