We’re largely ignored in the BBC’s ‘PL at 30’ feature, unsurprisingly. Each section has a team of the era, at the end;
02-07 - Chavs (fair enough back then)
07-12 - rags (what a surprise)
12-17 - fucking Leicester! One title then back into obscurity. Unbelievable.
Teehee!
Well at least we've got a good chance of the next 17-22 one!! :-)

Jonathan Wilson has a new book out about the Charlton Brothers. The Guardian have a piece on the book but it looks at the relationship between George Best and Bobby Charlton. I don't think Jackie Charlton got a mention in The Guardian piece. They might have other articles planned for the book where Jackie is mentioned but it seemed strange to me that the focus was not on the brothers.

To be fair we only won it once between 2012 and 2017 (Agurooooo fell into 2007-2012) as did United and Leicester with only Chelsea winning it twice - and they had already been featured for 2002-07. United had been featured 2007-12 so it was us or Leicester with one each. What would be ridiculous would be picking the dippers for 2017-22.

Yeah, but what do professional players know about the game?
I‘d rather listen to ignorant, bitter little hacks with an axe to grind.

Bit of a running theme isn't there?

Delaney says we're "sterile industrialisation". Michail antonio (who was on the pitch!) says we were "liquid" and "unbelievable"

Barney ronay said erling Haaland vs Liverpool was "Astonishingly bad", whilst Wayne rooney said he "must have been watching a different game" to nerdy hacks like ronay. Think shearer said similar too

But hey, what do shearer and rooney know about playing centre forward over this little nerd?

Ronay is an Oxford University posh boy who knows nothing about football and appears to have few qualifications to be a journalist. He re-invented himself so he could earn a living from football. The Guardian and the London media in general is full of these sort of people.
At one time most national Sports Reporters were genuine people who worked their way up the ladder by grafting in the provinces. But they are a dying breed these days and most national journalists are elitists who went to leading private schools and Oxbridge. They spend a lot of their time on Twitter mocking genuine match-going football fans.

Ronay talks out of his arse, ignore.

I mean, all you have to do is take a good hard look at his mug-shot and derive his level of appreciation of the finer things in life. He resembles a gargoyle stuck somewhere in some parasitic dungeon. He's definitely uninspiring and does seem to me like he's the type of lad who doesn't masturbate because it's "highly unhygienic". These so called journalists are more or less cut from the same cloth. The same desire for recognition after their dad have never been proud of them, the same lack of acknowledgment over the reality of things. We see this time and time again, this romanticising of things that shouldn't be. I bet his chode was pulsating so hard when he managed to introduce "sterile" and "industrialisation" in a football piece. Lovely chap.

Someone start a campaign, let's get him laid. Maybe he needs to stop fucking anything else but lampposts and microwaved oranges.
