A buddy (works as a football analyst for a well known firm) told me that City have been very interested in Diego Moreira and Martim Neto of Benfica. This is from his 'contacts' in Portugal. Shared that City scouts were present at Benfica youth matches quite a bit last season.

Idk how true this is but thought I'd share. Both Moreira and Neto are teenagers so doubt they would help the first team at the moment at all.

Possibly signings that will stay at their current club if we are genuinely interested?

It's been a great window. Sure there will be folk complaining about one thing or another but on the whole I like the look of the new stream lined squad. Full of quality anf full of options.
I'm not going to whinge about prospective injuries down the line and panic because what the fuck is the point? It's football, players get injured and we move on.
This squad can make history.

I think they have a lot of faith in JWE and young Rico if the need arose. Why else would Pep bring Rico on in a Prem game this early in the season, regardless of the score. Its not something he does all that much, if at all. That kid made Pavard, Sabitzer, and L. Hernandez look like amateurs in the friendly against Bayern. Some balls for a17 year old.

We do seem to have a very injury prone back 4 with little cover.

We have four centerbacks, we’re not buying a fifth because Ake has a groin injury. This is the same club that didnt replace Vincent Kompany for a full calendar year.

We lost the title due to playing Fernandinho and Garcia at cb.

We’re not just down Ake, we don’t know how long Laporte is out and also how reliable Stones and Dias will be. It’s a massive risk to assume we’re good as is. If all 4 were fully fit, sure. But it’s a World Cup year and nobody will take risks with their fitness this season, we should stack up on the back of where we are at today.

Agreed. Crazy to be going into the most congested season ever with so few players.

We needed more from last season, where a lack of depth arguably cost us the treble, yet have one fewer.

We are going to get injuries and fatigue.

Laporte out already, Ake out for who knows how long, stones and walker are always going to be injured at some point and we got slaughtered on those wings today. We will have lots of players leaving for the world cup too which puts the squad at even greater risk. I just thing defensively we are short
