Best Indian Restaurant in Stockport/Heaton Moor?

Yeah, it closed in 2019. Faruq’s son sadly died in a car accident and it closed shortly afterwards. Surprisingly no one has bought the premises yet, although not sure if it’s even up for sale?
That's sad. Used to go there quite a lot late 80s early 90s after beers in Heaton Moor or Heaton Mersey.
Another one we used to go to was Tondori Royale on Burnage Lane. Not quite the Heatons but not far. No idea if it's any good anymore but I think it's still going 30 years later so it can't be that bad.

Heatons Tandori is good. Classic curry house vibes and same decour for the last 30 years. Why change.

Tried Bay leaf once and was ok but id prefer the former (and its nearer my house).

As above the Kush is closed - all a bit sad to see nothing happening with the building.

Khandoker on the A34 opposite the cinema gets great reviews - went once was fine but no better / worse than HT.
I only tried Khandoker once, admittedly it was their takeaway when i went to the gym opposite and felt i deserved a cheat meal. It was average and as far as i could see they shared a kitchen with the restaurant. Think the takeaway is closed now but the restaurant is still there, so must be doing something right.
Some of the better ones i've had are smaller restaurants, Abaseen just past the McVities factory does curry from the Pashtun area of Pakistan, it will be unlike curry you've had before if you've never been to somewhere similar. Really really nice.
Lahori Karahi on Stockport Rd in Levenshulme, just before you get into Longsight - top class.

I keep telling the missus we should go Heatons Tandoori, honestly i can walk it there in a couple mins, but something always comes up!

I think i saw a let sign on it a while ago, Shaw Rd is a weird mixture and there are shops that nobody visits that have been there for years but then bars that are busy at night!

Copper Lounge near Hazel Grove High school is decent.

Been in there a few times, very nice.

I'm a big fan of the blue nile too over from the rising sun.
We used to go to the Blue Nile regularly and I agree it's nice.

We changed after an Indian bloke who drinks in my local told me and the wife about Copper Lounge. It's the only place locally we now go for Indian food.

Did the Kush shut down in Heaton Moor?
Not been for years but it was always good.
That’s sad - spent a good few nights in there back in the late 70s as a teenager after beers in the Plough and the Crown - sadder still is how old that makes me feel

Heatons Tandoori on Shaw Rd is supposed to be good, bit embarassed that i've never been even though its 2min walk from my house. Kushoom Koly across the road seems to be have been good but unfortunately it seems like they were forced to close down after lockdowns.
Kushoom Koly was really good. There donkeys years too, I was sad when it shut.

He was actually ran over on the A6 in Levenshulme. I’m still in touch with Faruk. Jordan was a great lad and often used to drop me back at mum and dad’s after I’d been in there for a curry after the game. Terrible thing what happened; poor lad.

Last time I went in the Heatons Tandoori it had really gone downhill. Some right scrotes in there…
