Can anyone recommend a curry takeaway near the etihad/East Manchester or North Manchester/City Centre ?
That's sad. Used to go there quite a lot late 80s early 90s after beers in Heaton Moor or Heaton Mersey.Yeah, it closed in 2019. Faruq’s son sadly died in a car accident and it closed shortly afterwards. Surprisingly no one has bought the premises yet, although not sure if it’s even up for sale?
I only tried Khandoker once, admittedly it was their takeaway when i went to the gym opposite and felt i deserved a cheat meal. It was average and as far as i could see they shared a kitchen with the restaurant. Think the takeaway is closed now but the restaurant is still there, so must be doing something right.Heatons Tandori is good. Classic curry house vibes and same decour for the last 30 years. Why change.
Tried Bay leaf once and was ok but id prefer the former (and its nearer my house).
As above the Kush is closed - all a bit sad to see nothing happening with the building.
Khandoker on the A34 opposite the cinema gets great reviews - went once was fine but no better / worse than HT.
I think i saw a let sign on it a while ago, Shaw Rd is a weird mixture and there are shops that nobody visits that have been there for years but then bars that are busy at night!Yeah, it closed in 2019. Faruq’s son sadly died in a car accident and it closed shortly afterwards. Surprisingly no one has bought the premises yet, although not sure if it’s even up for sale?
Copper Lounge near Hazel Grove High school is decent.
We used to go to the Blue Nile regularly and I agree it's nice.Been in there a few times, very nice.
I'm a big fan of the blue nile too over from the rising sun.
Love the Blue Nile mate, Lyme Lounge another mile or so up the road in High Lane is great tooBeen in there a few times, very nice.

That’s sad - spent a good few nights in there back in the late 70s as a teenager after beers in the Plough and the Crown - sadder still is how old that makes me feelDid the Kush shut down in Heaton Moor?
Not been for years but it was always good.
East Manchester - Purple Flame in Droylsden .Can anyone recommend a curry takeaway near the etihad/East Manchester or North Manchester/City Centre ?

Harappa higher hillgate.
Purple flame, purple flame..I’ve no idea what you are on about!
Kushoom Koly was really good. There donkeys years too, I was sad when it shut.Heatons Tandoori on Shaw Rd is supposed to be good, bit embarassed that i've never been even though its 2min walk from my house. Kushoom Koly across the road seems to be have been good but unfortunately it seems like they were forced to close down after lockdowns.
Same people own both. I also like the Spice Inn in Denton (Haughton Green)This the one in Sale Moor is class and cheap
I'm gagging for a curry now.
Currently in bed with covid and can't really taste much so there's no point :(
cheers.Get well soon mate.
He was actually ran over on the A6 in Levenshulme. I’m still in touch with Faruk. Jordan was a great lad and often used to drop me back at mum and dad’s after I’d been in there for a curry after the game. Terrible thing what happened; poor lad.Yeah, it closed in 2019.
