Your a better man than me PB, if he'd come after me on a personal level I'd be hoping the vile toad croaked.
It didn't affect me ultimately so I can afford to be magnanimous.

But had I lost my job because of him and his mate, when I was just emerging from a couple of very difficult years in my life, I might not have been quite so forgiving.

Went to see Jersey Boys last night, loved it. The song December 63 men's a lot to me, not for any romantic reason but because it was playing on the radio all the time as I drove down to the league cup final in March 1976. That and Convoy appropriately were both playing that wonderful day, and was all we had to dine out on for the next 35 years. Ironically I thought it was the start of something but proved a high water mark, unlike May 2011. Only regret over the last ten years wish it happened when I was younger.

The Queen and the Queen Mum loved to Sportswash, apparently. We have just had the Commonwealth games in Birmingham. Not a peep from anyone (apart from this article) about the Queen Mum and her soft power strategy and love to sportswash the world. Steve Cram, Liz Coulghan, Daley Thompson, Mo Farah and Fatima Whitbred all cynically used in the name of the Queen and her Sportswashing strategy.

Now the UAE are exploiting us by selling us stuff we need, cunts :-)

Not to mention a head of state owning race horses and ruining flat racing for the past 60 years.

The idea that the UAE and the other gulf states, at this moment in time, need to garner influence is laughable. Boris has been out there, and other world leaders begging them to increase production of gas and oil and secure supply's. It's the western democracy's doing the washing not the Arabs.

I still don’t get how “sportswashing” is supposed to work. I don’t remember all this outrage from sports journalists (term used very loosely) about human rights before City were acquired and became successful, so City’s success seems to have had precisely the opposite effect to what the media have declared to be the intention.
On the other hand if it is viewed as a supremely shrewd financial investment, the project makes far more sense.

The term sportswashing is a term coined by Delooney and his mates, it has no basis in fact, because of the tribal nature of football, And more importantly the need for clicks to generate income, all you need to do is tell the fans of the red tops you're not winning anymore because City are a state owned club with unlimited funding, most of them having a lower IQ than a chimp believe it. Kerrching.
