Echos of Newcastle 1st half. Completely different style half but similar poor performance. Mahrez and KDB were decent in my opinion, rest varying levels of below par.

Some points coming to mind:

Fullbacks are poor, combination of strange tactics by Pep and just poor play by them. We don't really have quality alternatives on bench though.

Early days but Haaland doesn't exactly seem a great fit. We are not the team that plays the ball early which is his biggest strength and as a team we lose in chance creation having him instead of a more technical player there.
We'll have to change if we want to get most out of him but that's difficult. Playing early balls means losing some control of the game and this team doesn't do well when we don't have control.

Struggling to see why Pep benched Gundogan too, the best player so far in the season. Anyway, him for Bernardo must be coming early. He is the best hope we have for salvaging something from this.

2-0 down in every game. A lot of focus on Pep and the inverted full-back which is obviously isn't working, but this is on the players. They have been shite for a quite a while now

Missing Gundy so much. Nobody controlling the midfield or threading balls through.

Our defence is all over the place

This a the fucking reason why we shouldn't have played zinchenko. We could have subbed Walker , bring cancelo to right and zinchenko could have played in left

Said it last week when our fullbacks are playing in midfield, we need to be playing another holding midfielder next to Rodri. We look way too open.

Given ourselves a mountain to climb here, and Palace aren’t the type of side we can give a 2 goal start to.

Unlucky with the first, and a yellow and foul on Cancelo for the second for me, but still been poor.
