Last night Tim Vickery, who is an expert on Brazil and Argentinian football, said the fee was “ridiculous” He said Antony had potential but at present was “basically a sub who was rarely played by Brazil.” He also said the fee for Martinez was even worse because he was “average.” Vickery lives in Brazil. But the UK media think Antony is a wonder boy. Apparently he can only play with his left foot and that’s why he was dropped by Brazil.

He has look decent in two games but as you said they are touting him as the new Baresi. Same with Arsenal and Saliba. January/February is the period where champions are made and thats when City go on a run. Teams like Arsenal/Rags won't bounce back from defeats as we do. Right winger mostly I think. He has 9 caps for Brazil, 7 of which were for around 25-30 mins coming on as a sub.

If Martinez is so good why, aged 24, has he only got seven caps for a very ordinary Argentina team (despite winning the Copa America when Martinez was an unused sub)? As a youth player he was a gifted goalkeeper and has recorded the longest ever throw in. He's an absolute steal. He was wanted by Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and PSG who all made undisclosed bids for him (but all reported to be upwards of €125m), but he only wants to go to United. He is a childhood fan of them and has stated that he dreams of playing at the Theatre of Dreams with Rashford, Ronaldo, Martial and Maguire.
