Premier League Games 3/4 Sept '22

No idea why Ward was having a pop at Ndidi there. That was totally on him. The pass didn't put him under undue pressure.

*edit* Yet another Lewis Dunk moment there. How is he a PL centre half?

35 minutes of entertainment so far.

Compare that to the next match at the swamp. We'll be lucky to get that all game.

How has this happened? I thought their owner was a billionaire?
It doesn’t matter how much money a club’s owner has got with FFP. Newcastle have an owner with a similar personal wealth to Sheikh Mansour but their spending power is about eight times lower than ours is because their turnover is only £140m and their wage bill is up at 80% of the turnover (City’s is about £680m and wage bill about 60%).

How have they got into financial trouble? They make good money from selling players well over the odds, don't spend a lot and have now had the premier league money for quite a while. Not long ago they were being lauded as a model on how a football club should be run.
I went to university with a Leicester fan who has a family member who is an employee of the club. The family member has mentioned to my friend that the club is poorly run financially but wouldn't expand any further. I appreciate it's not the most helpful reply but it's as much as I been told.

Its not a football town is it. Very much egg chasers.

Something doesn't add up.

Playing 2 up centrally against Evans and Co means more goals to come in this game.

Smith a cheerleader for Leicester

I’m not sure are that well run. They failed the EFL FFP with a £21m loss to get promoted.

In 2020-21 they made a £68m loss, and 2021-22 another £38m loss.

The wages they pay are apparently eye watering for the level of club they are. They owe millions in loans, millions to the previous stadium owners and they owe the tax man millions as well. Also stupidly spent £100 million on a new training ground. Small stadium, small fanbase globally and no Champions League football isn't going to help them either. If they go down and lose that Premier League TV money their owners will try and offload them to the first buyer they can find.
