Premier League Games 3/4 Sept '22

Dyche for Bodger's?

Very likely.

In my opinion, the owner gambled thinking why spend 100m+ when realistically they were never going to get that much higher in the league table, so he and the club took the cash this season and went to consolidate mid table.

You can never take for granted in this league, even as a solid mid table side, that the team is too good to go down even with a few player sales that have not played regularly.

It is the selective way VAR is applied in games that grates on People.

It comes across almost as if it is cheating.

The Poster saying "would you be happy Offside Goals being allowed to stand is totally missing the point".

Again i will go back to the Rags v Candle waivers game as my example. The winning Goal was clearly offside using the criteria applied today to cancel out that Brighton screamer.

One didn't need CGI lines to see the attacker was clearly ahead of the defender in the Rags game.It was visually obvious.

After the game it was said VAR was going to bring some common sense in to the VAR Booth.

If there was no clear daylihgt between a defender and an attacker then the Attacker gets the benefit.

The goal was allowed to stand that night, we didn't see any 4 minutes deliberation and CGI Lines which would have 100% proved he was offside.

Today we are back to 4 minutes forensically analyzing a cracking Goal. They couldn't even draw lines through the players.

You see my point ?

VAR are giving goals that are offside and chalking off goals that are good goals anyway.

There is no excuse for that considering they stop the bloody game and look at video from every angle, sometimes they look for ANYTHING to get a goal disallowed too.

Well Brenda is certainly in the long grass. He is to bullshit what Shakespeare was to literature. Few weeks in Spain on holiday, then bullshitting on Sky/BBC. Before bullshitting his way into another job.
Probably signing his contract with Talkshite as we speak.

I didn't imply it would.

Pigmol is the issue and the FA.

Referees are a joke, the little fat bloke who was dressed in black at Villa yesterday was a joke.
Can't disagree with any of that but I still hate VAR with a passion. At the very least any decision should take no more than 30 seconds. After that, the pitch officials decision should stand . Also, a captain's nomination referral system is needed, much like the system used at cricket. Two challeges per half, maybe.

Also, it's horrible watching your team score what looks like a perfectly legit goal and being restricted to a half-hearted celebration of a goal that look totally valid because at the back of your mind you're waiting for some kill-joy VAR twat to get their ruler out and find a way to chalk it off, even if it takes him 10 minutes to get there. It's stupid and I'm sick of it all. Get rid.
