Chelsea-Liverpool, United-Leeds, Brighton-Palace all off, rest of the games on (pg 128)

So...in the absence of live football.....here is a kind of topical quiz question....

What record do Sunderland hold....that can never be bettered or equalled?

Every national newspaper has been told policing was not an issue.

They would say that wouldnt they. The alternative stance being we have cancelled matches because we don't have enough police and we think fans , ie Liverpool FC will boo the the minutes silence wouldn't have gone down that well wouldnt it?

Better to have a discussion with the football authorities and come up with something acceptable that saves a bit of face on both sides.

I guess you have never questioned anything?

Think the footballing authorities have got this wrong, imagine a stirring rendition of God save the king at Anfield.

Haven't seen much police presence at any of my kids under 8 football matches before....

You said you'd heard it was because the Met wanted all the police available. How would that impact a game in Liverpool?

I dont think it will just be liverpool. 50 plus thousand fans at each ground won't all be ardent royalists and they'd be afraid of some booing etc.

Either way its a so called democracy and people should be able to do what they like and I actually think everyone, including those who don't like the Royals, would have been very respectful.

The heads of the league will all be hoping they get an invite to the funeral now for avoiding any embarrassment.
They'll have to do all the clapping and singing anyway when the matches restart.
I can't see what difference it has made in that respect.
It's just delayed the booing for a few weeks.

Nope didnt get that in relation to what was being talked about. Do like have ten tabs open trying to post as much as you can on every subject on BM? Just feels like that.
No, but thanks for asking.

As far as I’m aware, you’re agreed that the authorities were hasty to postpone the weekend’s matches, but you’ve accepted it.

Therefore, whilst you tend to agree with the people “crying” on here, you’re just playing devil’s advocate to pass the time?

Nope. Whoever it was started a convo with "This bullshit you're talking..... " I said thats not a conversation. You came in with something random again. nvm.

Ok, you’ve randomly, subjectively compartmentalised the conversation as you recognised you'd lost the debate.

Whatever floats your boat.
