Antoine Sibierski - Your memories

I remember a guy who used to sit fairly close behind me, would slag him every game. It used to get earlier and earlier that he'd be stood up, spit flying, yelling "Sibierski, you're shit, fuck off!", or similar. Me and my mates used to bet what minute it would happen in, but we gave up when it started happening in the warm up. Guy was a proper prick.

Anyway. Decent footballer, but vital in that team at that time, due to his height/ability in the air. Great at winning headers, crap at aiming headers. Was vital for defending corners/free kicks as we had a small team, but missed a fair few sitters.

Played out of position but always did his best.

My mate’s son was a friend of hers, (he was a promising lower league footballer at the time, Keil O’Brien), her Dad buying her an apartment at the age of 18 was her downfall, she went from a gregarious and innocent teen to a troubled girl on drugs and excessive alcohol in a short space of time, attracted the wrong un’s as she had her own gaff, tragic.
 
Good to recollect those times. We were slowly rising from the dead 2003-2006.
Blimey, when you consider how spoilt we are nowadays, it's hard to believe that he was idolised for a while - another great hope for us.
Not too difficult to shine for City back then in those teams, if you were half decent - and especially if he used Mr Sheen on his bald pate
 
thought he did a decent job when he played in the number 10 role behind Anelka, definitely wasn't a winger if Pearce is reading this
 
He wasn't the worst of our players back then, far from it. But he was limited. Wondering where his headers would end up was, er, enlightening!


It'd be interesting to hear what his recollections are of the team and the club back then!
 
Remember him being supposedly great in the air, some myth that haha. Preferred Riera and Musampa on the left which is where he played IIRC or kind of fucking around aimlessly behind Anelka. Pretty forgettable.
