Antoine Sibierski - Your memories

Probably one of his best moments was his pass to Tarnat for the Macken goal in the 4-3 win at WHL.

He kissed his ring well when he scored.

I think he was a bit wasted really. Played as a winger/forward when he didn’t have the skill set for these roles. Not any real stand out qualities and just sorted of drifted through his spell at city.

I guess the ideal position would be the 10 just behind the forward but we rarely had the luxury or personnel to be able to effectively pull this off.

Like Sun Ji Hai and others , seem mow like decent journeyman and part of a mediocre period in our progress, memories. I'd exclude Bernabia, Berkovic and maybe have a think about how I'd describe, Rick Holden, Alan Kernighan and early Claudio Bravo whilst now looking forward to a park full of statues of current players we are lucky to watch . Erling will need a theme park!

Head like a 50 pence piece ball would go anywhere except where it was supposed to.
Lets not forget Subaru,Christmas hamper & Big Phil.. great memories.

Played his entire career as an 8/10 in France and was highly rated, but then City seemed to want to use him almost exclusively as a winger or striker. Baffling and a bit unfair on the lad, especially in terms of how a good number of our fans now remember him.
Did OK in a poor Newcastle side after leaving us as well

I think the problem was that we played either 442 or 451. Would probably have suited a 433 or 4321 formation.
Years ago it seemed players were shoehorned into a 442 and expected to work at it.

I think a lot of people look at him and expected a target man kind of player as we were told his aerial abilities were one of his main strengths.

He did ok for us. Nothing special and was definitely not in the category of crap players we have witnessed over the years.

I don’t think many players from that era are remembered as being city greats or legends. That bunch were devoid of flair and excitement. More workman like really and knocked out the odd decent result along the way.

2003-2006 is when I’m referring to by the way.

Personally didn't think he was that bad for what we had at the time. Fella I used to sit near felt he wasn't strong enough on the ball. Spent most of his time screaming "here comes Bambi, fuck off Bambi" at him. Takes all sorts.
