Oh for sure, that's definitely true. He's going to have learn quickly, but I guess managers have to learn that at some point because until they're put in the situation of having to deal with egos, we'll never know whether they can handle it. It's certainly a risk, but I'm optimistic about Potter and I'm confident he'll be fine.
Reckon he'll smash it, great hiring.

Raz seems to have made a good choice, eh? Actually, I'm not angry with him as so many on here seem to be. Not in the slightest. He made a comment that I didn't take exception to, and it may have been misreported anyway. Couldn't give a damn, personally. He wanted more game time, he's got it. And, to be fair, there seems to be a consensus among Chelsea fans that he's their best player right at the moment. Pity about the rest of the team, though…

He's clearly our best attacker. I would say our best player is Reece James and it isn't particularly close but apart from James, Sterling is easily the best player on the team. Potter played at him LWB last night but it was a role with very little defensive responsibility and he just played like an out and out winger and it looked like he had a great time, always had time and space to run with the ball. Shame we couldn't win but it was an encouraging game in terms of individual players playing well - James, Mount, Kovacic, Jorginho, Sterling Cucurella all played well. One mistake cost us the 3 points.

I guess the mystery as to why you’re in 6th, with negative goal difference and have one point from CL games is now explained.

Ouch. Below the belt, that.

Sterling has been fine. The rest of the attackers have started the season poorly, Havertz, Mount, Pulisic, Ziyech. None of them have got going yet. If those other attackers contribute just 10% each of what Sterling contributes, we'd be sitting 2nd or 3rd :)

Just playful banter :-)

I know, and to be honest, I have to eat some humble pie. I was initially completely against signing Sterling. I have been impressed with him in pretty much every game so far - 4 goals in 8 games when the team is struggling for goals is magnificent.

The main thing with Sterling is his effort. No one works harder. He is not a clinical finisher but he torments defenders by the way he uses the space. Personally I think we sold him at the right time because our team is moving forwards with a different tactical set-up. But I wish him well and think he will prove to be a good signing for Chelsea. His injury record is fantastic as well.

Raz at number 9.

He'll have 12 chances and will score at least one with your wingers.

Yeah, I can see why City sold him, and I can see why Chelsea wanted him. I think he'll have a good career with us and end his career as a well respected player who performed at the highest level for 3 different big clubs plus a very good England career.

Thing with Sterling that a lot of people forget is he's still only 27. He's got another 5/6 years at the top level and he seems the sort of player who will stay in great shape and not really suffer with injuries.

Are We going to get a running commentary on all the clubs Todd after now?! It’s takes time and a lot of planning to buy a club or buy a % of a club! It’s like Todd rang up Santos and made a bid for them!
