Happy 5-1 day

I'm sure I remember the Blue Print fanzine coming out with a celebratory floppy vinal freebie with the bluemoon song remixed with Clive Tyldsely's commentary on it for the goals. I taped it and played in the car anytime I gave my rag mate a lift and then one day he ejected it and threw the tape out of the window on the motorway - ****!

does anyone else remember that remix or I have finally gone mad ?
Remember it? I can do better than that..... ;)

What a day. Can't believe its 33 years ago though. That 5th goal!..the utd hardmen struggling to get over the North stand fence . My wife at the time was from a rag family too and it was her brothers 21st party that night so you can imagine the tomfoolery I got up to...
We should have beat the bastards at castle greyskull later in the season as well.

Me and a friend went to Amsterdam the Monday to Friday and we'd arrived back late Friday so come Saturday we were pretty wrecked.....
We're in the middle of the Kippax, our usual spot. The two goals in a few minutes almost saw me off..... just got my breath back after the first goal and off we went again going mad.....the energy just zapped from me. The third wasnt too bad as I'd got my breath back but sat down at half time on the barrier wall in the middle of the Kippax.
The 2nd half just passed me by. Recall most of the 1st half but goals apart, the 2nd half was a haze.....
Walked home to Whalley Range where I was living at the time and set the video for the game later on.... and went to bed!

I remember being in a chippy in Hazel Grove and the speculation was that Bryan Robson was out injured, I turned to my mates and said “we will win today”. Not sure I believed it but standing on the Kippax that day as an 18 year old was an amazing experience.

Said to a rag at work the Monday after " watch the game Daren ?" his response "no and I won't watch them again while that scotch c**t is in charge". Clever fellows these rags.

A couple of years older and it really was amazing, one of my favourite ever days on the Kippax, along with the Charlton game which was also 5-1 iirc and similarly with some early goals to get everyone bouncing

Even scarier is my lad turned 15 a fortnight ago!!

So to recap, he has seen six Prem titles, six League Cups and two FA Cups.

In the same period, beating United 5-1 was about as good as it got until the Stoke Final in 2011.

I think it's fair to say the likes of our generation were more than owed this last decade!
