The Conservative Party

Seems investment zones will be able to build anywhere the governement can convince a local authority to allow, regardless of natural conservation protections.

This is what has irked the RSPB, if say derbyshire county council was given incentive enough to allow one then in theory they could tarmac the high peak and swallow up small villages into one big industrial area and housing estate destroying the eco system and wildlife habitats

It's a fucking dystopian nightmare come true. I just can't get my head round what has happen to this country over the past 10 years. Greedy, selfish cunts getting greedier and more selfish.
Well it's us that run the country, not you. Without us, you have no schools, hospitals, pubs, theatre's, sports. Then what will you do with your wealth?
I haven't been this angry about politics and politicians for a very long time.

It is more saddening that people are just letting it go by, anywhere else goimg this batshit the parliament would be besiged or already in flames.

Not that I am advocating burning down westminster in full sesson

But the vast majority of people will be angry for a few days & then just get on with life, with the odd "tut" thrown in.
That is the problem

I heard a very good analogy last night. Politics has been footbalised. People follow and support their 'team' no matter what they do. Hence people still vote Tory.

People voted Tory last time because of Brexit, with Brexit done Labour will get in.

Your rosette colour used to be who you are, not so much now because voters are way more transient.

Yep I agee to a point, but its getting to a stage where it is having serious implications to a lot of businesses and individuals. We are seeing more and more strikes and crime's on the increase. Come Winter things are gonna get a hell of a lot worse.
Very worrying times.

If people stopped going on strike outside their place of work and outside McDonalds and Greggs the people might start listening.

Just come across this section from the late James Cone's study of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. It's not very well known that towards the end of both their lives, their views started to converge on the following:

‘Martin reflected upon socialism even more seriously when he realized that the black poor (as well as the white poor, a reality that surprised him) were getting poorer and the white rich richer, despite the passage of the much celebrated Civil Rights Act and President Johnson’s War on Poverty. He became explicit about the need for economic equality, an “Economic Bill of Rights for the Disadvantaged” which would guarantee a job or an annual income for all Americans…But because he was still deeply aware of the harm that a “communist smear” could do to the civil rights movement, he was very cautious about the dangers of speaking positively of “democratic socialism.” “Now this means that we’re treading…in very difficult waters, because it really means that we are saying that something is wrong with the economic system of our nation,” he said in a speech to his staff. “It means that something is wrong with capitalism.”

During staff retreats, he often requested that tape recorders be switched off, so he could express his views frankly and honestly about the need for a complete, revolutionary change in the American political economy, replacing capitalism with some form of socialism. What we have had in America is “socialism for the rich and free enterprise for the poor,” Martin said often.’

After yesterday's budget, that last comment of King's seems especially pertinent.

The Labour party have a lot to answer for because they are so shit that even with these monsters in power people still couldn't bring themselves to vote for Labour in the numbers needed to get into No10.

Sorry but that excuse doesn't wash. If you're choosing to vote for monsters because your old party is shit then that's on you but it's 2022 now and we've all had long enough to marinade in the results of those types of decisions.

Monsters are monsters.

It might not wash with you but you don't count apart from having an opinion, it's the electorate that counts. I can't wait for the end of Tory rule and my point still stands if the Labour party would have supported Brexit (Rightly or wrongly) they would IMO have won the last GE.

They will win the next one IMO and by a considerable margin. I will vote for them as they stand now.
