The Conservative Party

Not really sure why you're defending this clown.
He inherited a huge estate which he sold and has since made and lost fortunes using that as collateral. I have no problem with people shorting a market if they have the assets to cover their losses if they fail. What I do have a problem with is someone shorting a market when they have insider information meaning that they can't lose. That is allegedly what has just happened.

As for your nonsensical comments on "fatism", if anyone takes offence at throw away comments like that I really don't give a shit.
Calm down didsy, your getting over excitable and that's never good for reasoned debate. Maybe he wouldn't like you being derogatory by calling him fat, just because of a dislike to wealth building. Would you walk into a public house and say move over fat lad whilst I buy a pint?

I am not defending him but neither am I attacking him for earning lots of money for shorting.
If you ask Sean when he comes on, he will probably tell you that shorting's an ingeral part of the stock market.
I guess some short sellers may portray as unethical, but short selling itself is not.

I have enjoyed our little chat.

I think technically, Charles could step in. I’m not sure how good an idea that would be for him or his family longer term though.
This is genuinely the first time I've been worried. I actually feel sick.

23 years paying into a pension pot, sometimes £300- £400 a month and people are saying that could have all been wiped out in a single afternoon ?

I don't see how as a nation we could stand for it and not march that pair of clowns straight to the Tower !

Something has to give. Hopefully not your or anybody else’s pensions.

Riots seem closer than they were last week.

They really need to understand what's happened in the last few hours. To some its a game, a rivalry like football. They do not truly get what's unfolding and how serious it is.

Rishi was always the sensible option. He's toff nosed and a bit of a twat but he was the best choice financially going forward. He needs being made PM immediately. We need an emergency vote of no confidence and I don't think the country can wait another day

I should have known better than to respond to your post in the first place.

Ha, did he say that, literally saying nothing we announced on friday has led to this

Tory MP's and commentators like Andrew Pierce have tweeted that the markets and currency fell because they were worried that Starmer and Labour was a credible alternative to the Tories and absolutely nothing to do with Fridays "Fiscal Event".

Mad on two levels really if you think about it. One to suggest the idea that Friday had bugger all to do with things and two they are openly admitting Labour are a credible threat ............... proof that when you skim off the cream of a political party the scum and detritus simply floats to the surface ( along with a few turds )

If anything major fails, like a pension fund, it will destroy the Tories for a generation, but it makes millions of peoples’ lives truly miserable.

Parliament needs to be recalled so there is some accountability. It is criminal that she’s gone into hiding.

Same here. Just started receiving a pension after making 26 years of contributions and now have to contemplate a future in which I may not be able to count on it the way things are going, especially if the BofE’s intervention is just a sticking plaster.

Would be funny to see the Mail columnists and the likes JRM, Redwood, Francois etc (and some on here) calling Charles an unpatriotic woke lefty libtard who's talking the country down who should just stick to being the King if he did step in though.

I have been paying in about the same time mate, private pension.

I made the decision during Covid to pay in the bare minimum, going forward, as it was galling to think I had £100k sitting there and couldn't access it, wasn't entitled to any government help.

I pay in £19 a month now and I don't care anymore, I'll take what's left and in another 18 years, hope Aviva's UK Ethical and Lion fund lets me walk with £100k.

As you say, it could have all gone in the blink of an eye and I refuse to have the piss taken as much as I can permit.

Don't even think the country can afford another day of these clowns
