It does feel like kids in other countries will be answering history questions like "was the UKs demise in the first half of the 21st century the inevitable final decline of a once mighty empire or an act of national self-sabotage unprecedented in a major developed nation? (5 marks)".

It’s actually a very interesting question. In summary, I would say that in actual terms, globally, the former (as western hegemony will undoubtedly continue to diminish) but relative to those countries who ‘remain’ in the EU, undoubtedly the latter. It is certainly unprecedented in its scale and likely long-term impact, unless you include Russia as a major developed nation, as their fall could be even greater.

A quite unbelievable reckless act of national self-harm that will make us discernibly poorer (by a number of metrics) as a country and will see the Union fracture. We have unilaterally unleashed forces that we simply cannot contain.

No turning back now. Our fate as a greatly diminished nation is sealed.

Agreed ..... only yesterday did the BBC announce the closure of numerous foreign language radio stations due to 'funding' and in some part a move towards different technologies.. But to relinquish all that Soft Power and influence!

What bearing do the prevailing rates of inflation in European countries have on a decision that will define our nation for at least a generation? It’s a complete non-sequitur.

So the way to solve our decent into 3rd world standards is to carry on regardless.

don't worry pensioners are already litter picking to take up the slack and police are too busy in special measures so the publics lack of toilets mean you won't get done for pissing in streets or robbing books because the libraries are gone.

I really do think they are trying to see off the lowest end of society. They want to make cuts to benefits to pay for the tax cuts for the rich. Work you to death with no form of strike or protest to express your anger. And working class people still say they'll vote for them. Fucking disgrace.

She was asked when trying to get the job whether there would be austerity , she said a point blank no , lying bitch

All the talk of attacking the benefits is no surprise but i am frightened off what they will do to people like me who cant hold down a job because of health , no increase in benefits that was promised

Please everyone vote labour next time
