How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

I'm not sure it's a high as 80% but of the Brexit voters who are sticking with it I'd say that this quote from yesterday pretty much sums up the stance of the majority. I think that many voted Brexit because they don't like foreigners but once it was done they stuck with it because they enjoyed the feeling of power of bloodying the nose of the better educated (even though they broke their own knuckles and had to pay for the ambulance)
I can’t quite put my finger on how the logic of our country being run by people not fit for purpose being given more power and free reign to destroy our working rights being the right thing to do.

Maybe our lettuce named friend could expand on why he thought incompetent politicians should be given more power.

He probably won’t though. I bet he’s stood in the pulse aisle of Tescos howling at anyone putting mung beans in their baskets.

He's probably in Iceland coming up with another little gem.

I'd like to see a "Brexit voters - How do you feel about it" thread". It would be carnage I know but tbh I'd really like to know how much they feel or know theyve been duped by this govn, their govn.
The trouble is that it's not quite as simple as that. There are people out there who voted Leave but never voted for this government. On the flip side, there are people out there who voted Remain but voted for this government. My boss is a pretty staunch Remainer but never votes for anyone except Conservative and even went as far as saying that if Brexit hadn't gotten "done" and there was another referendum, he would've voted Leave just out of principle of upholding the original vote despite his Remain stance. Yet I voted Leave, never voted for this current government, and would be more than happy to see the whole shit show cancelled!

Realistically though, simply cancelling Brexit isn't really an option but rejoining the Single Market is and that's what we should be doing. Hopefully if the Tories keep fucking things up so much and Starmer gets in with a decent majority that's what will happen.

Corbyn the fucking dickhead said another brexit referendum if labour win!!!! Hang on what about DEMOCRACY not one fuck wit in the labour furherbunker said that’s not a good idea!!!! Worst defeat ever at an election.New Labour policy let’s keep voting until we get the result that suits us…Not one labour MP has ventured anywhere near a picket line not one,Labour has been hijacked by mung bean eating middleclass twonks who have never had their hands dirty in their lives who constantly slag working class voters off because they want what’s best for their families and communities who constantly are ignored by politicians and branded thick……The Labour Party are finished time for a new party
Welcome Mr Lettuce.

Whilst I agree with some of your rather eviscerating prose, there are some parts I take issue with.

Referenda are a poor way of carrying out Democracy. We have General Elections and those that were elected should have made the decision. It was Starmer as Shadow Brexit secretary who set the scene for a second referendum, Corbyn should have stuck to his original anti EU stance.

The use of the word Furherbunker is very distasteful and comes with the implication that Socialism is actually National Socialism, which is nothing more than an idiotic far right trope.

25 Labour MPs attended RMT picket lines, far too few of course, but to say none is blatantly wrong.

Angela Raynor worked as a carer, that is hardly middle class mung bean eating twonkery.

Whilst I can no longer vote Labour and are no longer a member, the polls say the Labour party is far from finished and is actually on course for a record victory

Something tells me you would never be able to have a debate, where you discuss, agree, disagree. In fact you seem quite extreme. Are you an extremist? I mean you;re quite way down that hole. Do you think you;'e extreme in your views?

I can't be bothered addressing all the mistakes in this post but what I will say is this. Whatever faults the Labour Party currently has, they're still a much more palatable option for many people in this country than this pathetic excuse of a Conservative government so your statement that Labour are finished is as far from the truth as you can possibly get.

This, this and this some more.

The problem with Brexit is that it became an emotional issue, not a logical one, so the conditions for rejoining just don’t exist and won’t exist while it remains an emotional issue. The likelihood that we would be readmitted only on less favourable terms just adds to that.

However, whilst the country voted to leave the EU it did NOT vote to leave the single market. What we as a country need at the moment is undoubtedly for our economy to grow. Departure from the single market has had catastrophic effects on trade that could easily be reversed. Returning to the single market would not only stimulate growth, but it would address the Northern Ireland issues and would divert some pressure away from a Indyref 2.

But will they do it?

No. Because they’re zealots.

And will Labour do it, or commit to doing it?

No, because they’re too scared of the issue.

It remains, as it always was, a complete shit show.

The latest stupidity is the binning of EU regulations. By itself, just replacing EU regs with UK regs will be a red tape nightmare, but for exporters to the EU it will mean complying with two lots of regs. More costly ideological madness.
