Strangest fucking feeling in the world mate, had it when I broke my left hand boxing as well. They block specific nerves instead of giving you a general anesthetic (the ones that relay pain signals to the brain) so you don't feel any pain but you're wide awake and can feel them moving the bones around. No pain but extremely uncomfortable.

Yep will make crutches difficult, you might have to take the wheelchair route until the shoulder is better.

My worry is they’re going to want to keep me in the care home for a few months, not my idea of fun.

Sounds like a root canal

I’ve had 3 apicoectomies on my bottom front teeth, 2 with local anaesthetic and one sedated.

They’re fucking grim. It’s a root canal but from underneath. Afterwards, the stitches in your mouth go around the bottom of your teeth to keep them in place and every time you chew anything, it’s like compressing dental floss into your gums.

If there's even a hint of anything around bone density etc then do push to get a scan done as soon as possible, like most things the sooner you know the better in terms of managing it, minimising issues.

We don't know each other from Adam but I'm genuinely sorry to hear of your troubles and I really hope tomorrow at the hospital is the start of them getting you back on your feet.
