So when you watch City you are clueless, or not interested in the other teams tactics or players.
As a football person I do find that difficult to grasp.
I know it is not unusual , a bloke who sits just in front of me never knows the opponents players, or tactics, style of play.
A general knowledge of our opponents makes it more enjoyable for me.
Suppose everyone is different, no right or wrong.
You make a valid point mate, and happy to respond.
As you say, we are all different. I do watch our opponents carefully when we play them, but other teams I only ever watch highlights of, if that.

I wouldn’t say I’m completely clueless. When my lad was a bit younger and I was involved in managing his local team, I went and got my FA Coaching qualification, kept training diaries, worked out and delivered training drills and keenly observed tactics in pro games too. But I’ve had enough of it all, and fell out of love with “the game” some time ago. There are other sports I enjoy more and there are so many other things I’d rather do than, to my mind, waste 2 hours in that way.

But none of that has diminished my interest in or love of City or how closely I watch us and our opponents now.

Sorry wasn't being derogatory using the word clueless.
I probably watch too much.
I did my badges a long time ago and really enjoyed doing them.
I like to know what the coaches are trying to achieve, the set up of a team, players strengths , weaknesses.
I also like to spoil a good walk playing golf 3 times a week.

Our thread and Newcastles on RAWK is a great read. On the Newcastle thread, a few of them are giving up on football. Poor bastards chose the easy option when they were kids and supported a successful team, but they are jumping ship now.
Especially as their success was built purely on Moores' millions ...they like to pretend that they dragged kids from Toxteth to become champions.. they blew away many with their buys...

Also deluded..thinking THEY invented football culture and the rest stand back open mouthed in awe...such a deluded arrogant and basically ..thick twat..im all for every one on here to keep slating them for their delusion and arrogance... "we invented culture" FFS!!
They are also shocked as to why most subscribe to the "anyone but scousers" sentiment...maybe if they had a bit of grace and humility...

has anyone, at anytime, ever read such a pile of shit as this !!???

I think the difference going back to the 60s then coming forwards is that we organically and spontaneously invented that culture and made it our own. It was real, and born out of something real. We don't really need anyone to show us the way. The pyro has added a modern, colourful twist to it. One I really enjoy too. If George plays Dua Lipa it's because her song was adopted into LFC fan culture after a European cup Final we played in. Again, a natural absorption of something new into our cultural heritage and not something forced and contrived.

I understand it with Abu Dhabi. They are an artificial entity without identity. They have to contrive something because, if they don't, they have nothing. There is no sense of occasion in anything they do, so they have to force it. It's all a bit sad and contrived, like WWE. A horrible, contrived, choreographed charade.

We set the pace all those decades ago, and others are still trying to copy. The whole 'Ultra' thing is just trying to recreate the Spion Kop of the 60s, 70s and possibly 80s with a modern twist, yet all of it is contrived and overthought, unlike the Spion Kop, which was in-the-moment, of its time, unique and absolutely authentic. I feel utterly privileged to have been a young lad on the Spion Kop from the early 70s onwards.

Lights and pre-game songs over the tannoy don't put the shits up the opposition, yet even the current Kop can do, despite being a castrated and sanitised version of its former self. We still have something real, in a world full of plastic. I think we should cherish it and not go down the route of the likes of Abu Dhabi. They are trying to create a sense of occasion that we do without even trying. Of course, we'll continue to evolve our cult
I could only manage the first paragraph, so so fuckin desperate for recognition they’ll say, do or claim almost anything, only fuckin thing they ever did for culture was the first four letters, fuckin weird cunts.

Ps, think they’ll beat arsenal though.

If you read the media, you would think Liverpool have been right up there with City in terms of winning the Premier League for the last decade or so. In fact they won it once.
never has a team that has not won it much get so lorded.... makes THEM believe it, they really thought they were the world's best team at one point..i shouldn't read anything their fans write as its so full of bullshit...but I am drawn as i can't believe they write that shit without a sense of any irony...they could all be American!
