Wrexham thread

Think when they first bought the club they couldn’t believe that any club from the lower leagues could get to the Premier! That’s what being an American sports fan does to you!

It’s the pyramid that has kept British football attendances interest so high for over 140 years and why American owners in the premier are here for one reason only to make money influence our game and change it to benefit these greedy fuckers….

I’d go as far as to say that it’s the best football documentary I’ve ever seen! These two are the antidote to the idea that American ownership (yes I know Ryan is Canadian) is bad for the game. You can tell that they’re sincere. They’re fully immersed in it and by buying the ground back they’ve effectively secured Wrexham’s long-term future whatever happens.

There are so many great moments that they’re too numerous to mention. My favourite is when they turned up to watch Wrexham for the first time away in a night match at Maidenhead and when they surprisingly went 2-0 down the Maidenhead fans piped up with “Ryan Reynolds, you bought the wrong club!”

They’ve not shied away from the hooligan issue either, dedicating a large part of one episode to incidents that happened in a home game against Torquay.

I think they will go up this season as well but it’s a tough league to get out of and they’re not the only club with money.
I’d say it most definitely is the best football documentary I’ve seen. Watched the latest few to come on the other day. Very funny in parts. You can see the change in Reynolds’ opinion of the game and the club. He gets it now. Genuine football fan emotions being shown.

I love the show, but contrary to a few opinions further up I'm not a fan of the landlord. Seems miserable! The hooligans a moron, lovely mrs who's got a famous Dad and he's pricking about like that. Tit

I do like the two owners, both seem keen on bringing good times back to Wrexham which is nice. Ryan Reynolds is just a naturally funny guy too and so is Rob cantspellhisname.

Wonder if he was part of the Wrexham massive that played up in Failsworth recently?

You guys enjoyed Welcome to Wrexham more than City’s All or Nothing from the 100 point season?

I’d rather watch City create history than a bunch of interviews with some bloke that owns a burger van outside Wrexham’s stadium!

I have to admit I very much enjoyed the documentary. Rob always came off as very sincere, and in the last episodes, it seems Ryan's finally bought into it too.

I don't particularly care much for the team itself, I must admit.

Completely different documentaries both in content and style.

I watched it and tbh a lot of owners throughout the league could take a few lessons from these rookie owners ......... how many owners out there would have buckled under the pressure when the fans wanted Parkinson out .......... they didn’t and it nearly paid off for them big time .......... I just hope it happens this season especially for Parkinson a legend down at Valley parade for what he did

As @LangleyBlue1970 said, they're totally different documentaries. All Or Nothing is primarily about the players, coaches, and manager and although fascinating in its own right, that's about it, whereas WTW covers the lot and doesn't shy away from controversial issues. It's also more, a lot more, than some bloke who owns a burger van.

Spot on mate.

Ours was a joy to watch the third time as it was the first. But it was most definitely sanitised. Add to that the glitz and glammed and the slow motion shots, it’s anything but what WTW is all about.

I watched their failures and felt for them. We’ve been there, maybe not that low but low as we could for a club of our size. They’ve captured what football fans go through perfectly, and added the journey of the owners into it to create something which is absolutely unique.
