The Conservative Party

He's not a swivel eyed Brexit loon so that's a non-starter. He won't have been chosen by Truss - he would have been parachuted in as a result of instructions from people who know how the economy works. He might be a **** but he's one of the few Tories in recent years that has demonstrated he's not incompetent like most of the rest.

Nor is Truss. She just changes her colours like a chameleon

JRM is Truss’s puppeteer.
So the battle lines will be drawn.
The ERG and other assorted loons led by JRM pulling truss’s strings, and the 1922 committee and other moderates and one-nation types pulling Hunt’s strings.
Anyone think this is workable and to the benefit of Britain?

The conservative party clearly aren't in any fit state to govern. So many bridges have been burned internally that nobody is left who is fit to to take up any senior position in government.
I think the last few years have gone to show that we can't continue with a system where a PM stepping down leaves it down to a small bunch of idealogues to vote for a new PM. The tories have chopped and changed leader so many many times over recent years pulling the country in all kinds of directions. It's pretty clear that when someone as senior as PM is ousted it should automatically trigger a general election. Perhaps they'd take it a bit more seriously that way.
Spot on

You're right that ideologically she's not. But her ideology is simply to go with what will further her career. She was voted in as a result of kamikaze pledges to the Tory members and unsurprisingly has come unstuck as soon as she tried to implement them. She's utterly clueless when it comes to making real decisions correctly.

Absolutely not workable. Feels like the Tory party are in self destruct mode, next couple of weeks are going to be telling.

If you’re going to be a blatant political opportunist as least be vaguely smart about it. She should have studied her predecessor more closely.

I agree with much of that. I think this time the Tories have been given a massive wake up call to how harmful this faction is, and I seriously doubt it will be allowed to happen again. However, it may now be beyond their control.
The issue now is that the rabid right wing press and delusional membership are furious.

They have all been fed a solid stream of BS from brexit through to the LT leadership campaign. Its like they want to exist in a right wing fantasy but the bubble has been burst and its been stolen from them. The reality is grim and they don't want to face it.
