For all those picking on Ake, well next option available for full back is Wilson Esbrand. With injury to Walker and Gomez red, he will play at LB bcoz even against lesser teams don't think pep will trust Esbrand
 
If more played with the passion and fight that Bernie did at Anfield we would win alot more of these games.
 
Why are liverpool drawing or losing to other teams worse than us but against us they produce a result? Other teams don't care about how liverpool set up and just play their natural game but for some reason we had to rejig the whole structure and formation around liverpool's strengths. FFS.
 
It's always 1 error that decides these games and Cancelo made it.

Unfortunately another big key game that Pep got very wrong. Making a first change in the 87th minute? Bonkers. Hopefully won't cost us in the long run.

I knew we were losing that the second Pep started goading their crowd. Great way to show them you've lost your cool.

Shirt pulls in the box every corner. For a couple of seasons they give penalties for them then decided to stop it as there was too many.
And magoo in net didn't have the ball in his hands with Haaland.

Ref bottled it.
 
Sorry but down to Pep that. Basic rule of football for 100 years. Always keep two defenders on their lone man upfront. We sent three centre halves up and left a weakling defender against a master of turning his man. De Bruyne didnt help with a terrible free kick. This is why we will probably never win the Champions league.

I'm with this. I am not feeling the tone in the forum, let's get our hard hats on tis a long season and Pep/the squad have performed and earned the bennefit thus far.

We have to expect Pool to give their all in this match at Anfield and with ref help was enough. I think a draw was the right result today but didn't go our way.

Plan a is to try and over run us for the first 15 -20 mins.....if they score they then play on the break...
If they dont score they go to plan b...sit back, out fight us in the middle third and punce on any mistake...they were just waiting when we were playing it out from the back 4 into midfield for a loose touch or something like that..
As it happened it was route one from their keeper and a terrible defensive decision from Cancello

We have a few players who just dont ever have the intensity for this type of game...nothing to do with quality but everything to do with heart and ability to be that couple of per cent more intense in your game....Cancello, Ake are two prime for that (Mahrez is another but thankfully he didnt get anywhere near the pitch)....KDB does it as well.....not all the time but from time to time he disappears in games when people get in his face....

Bernardo and Foden were very good. .....Haaland had little to play with but did well when he could.....

We need to learn that as good as certain players are (and in some cases they are very good players) when its an intense match like that sometimes its better to play the ones who battle....Cancello has NEVER been that player. He is absolutel quality technically but he doesnt have fight in him...KDB does this disappearing act from time to time as well

Good post and analysis. Have to say I disagree about Haaland. He had three presentable opportunities and fluffed them all. He was poor today too

That's because Pep is terrified of them at Anfield, Constantly blowing smoke up their arse whilst Klopp talks shit about us all the time...Pep always had "tactical tweeks" against these scouse cunts and more times than not it does more harm than good. I wish we had 11 Bernardo Silva at Anfield...I can guarantee it would be a different outcome.
 
That was pretty fucking woeful all round.
If I didn't know better I'd say Kev had a couple of quid on a liverpool win.
Pep gonna get a bit of abuse no doubt and he certainly deserves question s being asked in regards to today's set up but there are a few players out there who seem to let the occasion overwhelm them and without being able to get the basics right we played right into their hands.
Luckily I'm too hungover to be too angry or pissed off though by the time I've caught up on this thread that'll probably change...
