Liz Truss

As a navy wife i can tell you none of the lads in the forces ever expected to see a war, the joined up for a jolly around the world , my ex sent me a telegram saying i wont be home , we are going to somewhere else instead , war was a shock to them as they were not mentally prepared, we lost the same amount after tge war from suicide and drinking themselves to death
Blame Argentina then.

My brother was there, it was probably the worst period of my life for stress and worry.

Anyway, it’s off topic so let’s leave it.

The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter
Yep. In order for democracy to ‘work well’, it requires a ‘well’ educated voting population.

Still, as flawed as it is proving to be (due to human faults), it’s still better than communism has proven to be (due to human faults).

I still think a benevolent dictatorship is what’s required to get stuff done ‘for the greater good’ of the community (assuming the dictator is educated/worldly wise).

*We Royalists enter the room*

Annoys the fuck out of me when people interviewing her meekly accept her pitifully scripted non-sequitur answers. Shows a complete lack of professional self-respect. Ask the fucking question again. Usually works for me.
This is a really important point. They trot out their shtick, repeat it endlessly, and simply ignore what’s been asked. Pisspoor interviewing.

Well the current polling puts the Tories as behind the SNP for overall UK seats.

The current question is whether they have enough loyal support to become the opposition, never mind winning an election.

You’d be better placed to not insult people who have previously voted differently to you.

The whole country almost has turned on the Tories and her approval rating is currently below Prince Andrew’s… let that sink in.

The only way labour can fail now is if Starmer shoots someone or people like you continue to attack those we need to get rid of the Tories.

Have you not learned ?
You vastly underestimate the stupidity, apathy and ignorance of the voting public. Vastly.

If you were my wife I’d be:
A. sending you a telegram saying I won’t be home
B. drinking myself to death if I had to come home
:)

Brendan Rogers is sounding more convincing trying to keep his job.

I can't even repeat what my Tory voting Aunt (we've always suspected she was adopted, lol) said today. Needless to say her incredulity, vehemence and hatred of this Tory shower knows no bounds at this current time.
My phone almost sizzled with the message she sent

Piss weak. Some **** needs to hold them to account.
I have yet to hear anyone ask a question which focuses on the absence of any political judgement - of her and her former chancellor - which made them think that they could put forward such proposals without a thought out plan, or asking why they gave no thought to what the outside world would think of such a reckless proposal.

She has apologised but it has not been a personal acceptance of blame - only "We accept...we recognise..." mistakes were made.."..but my focus now...." For God's sake, just own it, you vacuous woman!

And as for the rest of her party, they'll look more pathetic with each passing day that she remains. More robotic than Theresa May ever was. How they all clapped and applauded at the party conference, and in the Commons when Kwarteng made his initial announcement.

Can't wait to hear the avoidance mantra she'll adopt at Question Time tomorrow.

I have read this a few times now.
My father's second wife said the same about my 3 half brothers who joined up in the 1980s.
"They might be sent to Belfast!!" She said (a few years after encouraging them to sign up)
Well yeah I said.....it's the "Armed" Forces. "Which bit of it did you miss?"
Anyway, she was shitting herself but the 3 lads weren't.
Gulf wars, seeing mates killed by "friendly" fire. Then in old Yugoslavia and being electrocuted on a recee.
Never once did they think they had joined up for a jolly around the world.

Will she turn up?
