Rishi Sunak

Welcome to the dark side Kaz.
I am not stopping lol , he does deserve credit for that and the fuel help he put in place for most of us , truss tried to claim it as her own but he sorted it . Lets see what he does from here now he has the big job , i do want a general election asap though

Corbyn and Truss were the result of the establishment temporarily losing their grip.

Liz Truss and her rip up protections for anything and screwing all the lazy working bastards to the ground in favour of business was everything the Tufton St brigade have in their wet dreams. And you can't get more establishment than them.

Just because Liz Truss wasn't originally part of/born into that cabal doesn't mean she wasn't acting on their behalf. They just couldn't believe their luck in finding someone who stood a chance of being pm who was that vacant and intellectually bankrupt that she would willingly try to implement their pipe dreams at any cost. She was their useful idiot, stopped only because even the cynical markets recognised the idiocy of their Vistorian wet dreams becoming reality in 2022.

Of course, Sunak and Johnson are equally as establishment, in differing ways.

Feels like this was almost planned all along.

I have no faith in the conservatives or any other party at the moment to do a good job.

I can’t see rishi sunak getting anywhere near the same level of support as they did in 2019.

Yep. First thing he needs to sort is the cost of living crisis.
He's too rich to understand what one of those is.

He thinks we all pay the same prices for food and drink he does in the commons.

By far the largest part of the fuel help was the price cap. Sunak specifically ruled it out during the leadership campaign.

Truss also ruled it out, but then u-turned after she became PM, by which time Sunak hadn't been in the cabinet for months.

You never know in politics, they have a year to sort this shit out or else it will be the landslides of all landslides.
For me a GE now will just me a major distraction and not what the country needs and the stuff that needs addressing will just get delayed further. Give the bloke a chance.
Bring it forward to sometime towards the back of next year but it will be chaos if it's held now.

Everytime I think of Rishi I'm reminded of this chap who featured heavily in Brasseye and The Day Today.

The Tufton St brigade are powerful but they're no more establishment than Trump is. The establishment allows the fringes to indulge in high octane madness, lunatic politics, populists, fantasists, useful idiots and zealots, but over time the establishment always returns to mean, the excitable put back in their box or out to grass if they over reach themselves.

With the establishment the truth lies in the name.

He did do furlough , more generous than most of europe

Fuck me , i am praising a fucking tory

Nurse!

Pretty sure that was a Johnson sound bite wasn’t it, the main countries furlough schemes were all too tricky to do a proper like for like comparison.
