Rishi Sunak

Can you please point out to where I said he was the only finance minister in the world to save jobs and/or businesses during Covid?

If you cannot do so please come back and retract that statement.

I await your response.
What are you on about mate?
You were making out that his performance during covid was somehow exceptional ( alright you didn't state it explicitly but you implied it - read your post again).
My point is that it wasn't and in fact could be judged to be worse than eurozone and USA.
Stop being a drama queen!

I literally watched him on the ITV debates saying we shouldn’t cut tax.
Then you literally weren't paying attention to the debate or my post ;)

He said he would wait till inflation came down before cutting taxes (which is what I said in the post you replied to), but he also said he would cut VAT on fuel bills, and that he would reduce income tax to 16% by the end of his first full term.

So he didn’t stand on the same policies.

Thanks.

I was replying to a post which said that "His economic plans were the opposite of Liz Truss"

Two people saying they'll cut tax, and be tough on public sector spending but one saying they'll wait a bit before the tax cutting part is not the "opposite".

Oh my goodness who is this robot???? I’ve never seen him speak before properly as I am a bury my head in the sand type of person until something really, really important happens.
This is a very important day so I thought I’d watch his speech. His eyes never moved, I’m not even sure that he blinked and it was like listening to a Dalek with no change of emphasis in his pronunciation!!

Ah well. We reap what we sow….not that I sowed anything to do with Tory … but the country did and we’re a democracy.

WE NEED A GENERAL ELECTION!!

So what role will Rees Mogg get? No way he will Want to be out of the cabinet and on the back benches, he will want to be pulling the strings behind the scenes . I don't trust that fucker.

You didn’t watch any of the Covid updates for 2 years?

He spoke a lot then, you know, when he was Chancellor of the country

They were the opposite of Truss in the short to medium term though weren’t they?

He stood on a platform of not cutting tax until the economy had recovered and described exactly what would happen if Truss cut them.

No I didn’t watch them because I never knew when they were lying (politicians not Scientists) and just read reports and followed the rules!!
Well if you did watch it late last year, you’ll have seen that the scientists were saying we need to lockdown urgently to avoid mass Omicron deaths.

Sunak said it was a weaker strain and we need to learn to live with it. Thankfully Johnson agreed and we didn’t lockdown, and Sunak was proven right.

So, 2024 is now the medium term? Well, I guess it's about 3 PMs worth of Tory time so maybe you're right ;)

He planned to cut VAT now, he planned to cut taxes as soon as possible, and he planned to cut public spending.

If that's the opposite of Liz Truss, then Jeremy Corbyn wants a word.
