Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

How the fuck have you managed that? Just by putting our immersion heater on at night rate it’s £1.90 by 9 am or do you not bother with hot water?

Size of house will define how much you have to spend.

We’re trying to keep it under £4 a day.

Gas for 2 showers and cooking costs over a quid a day on their own.

Only boil kettle once a day. Fill a flask with that hot water to last the day. Don't wash pots every day. I live alone so only do them when I run out of cutlery and plates. Don't shower every day (nobody has complained I smell) As a kid we had a bath on a Sunday night. Every other day was a strip wash. Only wash clothes when I run out of clean socks and un derwear.

Don't think of heating this time of year in the tropical south.

The warm October has certainly helped this month. My gas bill only £17. Electric around £100 and we were away for a week and didn’t use the tumble dryer much. Sure both will ramp up a bit the next few months.

Cold night and day , broke out a throw on the bed , up to now it was just a sheet , got the warm pj's out for the day , sorted

Love the cold mornings to walk in then get back into bed but not moving about in the house is the killer when it is cold

I am reading my meters every four weeks and i am remarkably stable , it was a tiny bit more in july when i had the ceiling fan on but am not too scared of my bill next month , fix ends in dec , have decided to try and get through the winter unaided by heating

No heating at all ???
